Biff had discovered a new game on Facebook.

"Grow faster!" he commanded his farm.

It wasn't listening.

Wellspring Arms was open.

"Oh, bless, Biff," said Daisy, as she came in and then leaned over the counter a little to get a better glimpse at what seemed to have demanded his attention, "what've you gotten yourself into now?"

"I'm trying to be a farmer," Biff complained. "I'm from Judea. I should know better."

Daisy grinned a little on that. "A computer game, is it, then? In which case I can't blame you. Couldn't be much of one now, so the prospects got to be attractive there." But she pouted a bit, playfully, at his complaint. "Not going so well?"

He pouted. "No. I forgot about it for two days, so everything died, and I'm broke."

Daisy politely covered her mouth for a moment, but that probably did little to hide her grin, with her eyes dancing like that. "Oh, Biff," she said. "I'm so sorry."

"I'm half tempted to get my credit card out--or steal Barney's--and buy myself out of this," he admitted.

Daisy's expression shifted to one of warning. "No stealing, Biff, it's against the law. And what do you mean, anyway, buy yourself out of it?"

"Borrow, then," Biff covered quickly. "And you can buy fake money on this game by using real money. And then I could buy a barn."

"What?" Daisy asked dubiously. "For storing all the crops that you haven't grown?"

"Well, yes," Biff admitted. "But it makes my farm look better."

Daisy just looked at him a moment again.

"I just can't imagine why you're having such a difficult time with this farming bit, Biff; it's just baffling."

"I'm never going to get rich planting strawberries, I can tell you that," Biff sulked. "You should get a farm. I'll send you a cow."

Probably just a cyber cow. Probably.

Okay, no, she really did just have to take that one. Daisy gave him a skeptical look.

"Now, Biff, why would I want to go and buy the cow when I get the milk for free?"

Biff burst out laughing. "That is an excellent point."

"So, see," Daisy concluded, "you shouldn't buy the barn."

It was totally logical, shut up.

"I won't look more alluring to fake female farmers by having a huge barn?"

"Well, it isn't the size of the barn that counts, Biff, but how you use it."

Biff burst out laughing again. "And saying I can stuff all kinds of animals into it is just not helping anything."

Now Daisy was the one who could help a laugh. "Not at all. Although that might be a secret as to why you're doing so poorly with the rest of the farming bit."

"Too busy with the sheep," Biff said, nodding.
