The Gig, Friday [9/18]

Something disturbing had happened to Dani last night.

She had been forced to fold her own laundry(*gasp*) when she noticed something strange on her television. There was Steven Colbert bringing a live goat into the television studio and claiming he was going to stare at it until its heart exploded. Comedy or not, Dani didn't think the idea was very funny.

So even though she hadn't even named the other abandoned goats that she'd rescued, Dani started making plans to head to New York City and rescue Colbert's goat.

The Gig was open, and Dani would try to recruit anyone who stopped by.

That afternoon, Vida arrived with a bouquet of tulips (http://i29.tinypic.com/oh362t.jpg) in hand. "Good afternoon!" she said. "I'm looking for Dani."

"That would be me," said Dani, her face lighting up at the sight of flowers. It might be just enough to get her mind off Steven Colbert's goat.

"These are for you, sweet pea," Vida said, handing the bouquet to Dani. The attached card read "From Vince."

"Oh, how lovely!" said Dani, though she really didn't smile until after she read the card. If the flowers had been from her dad, they would have gone straight into the trash. "It's been a while since anyone sent me flowers, and at least this time Vince stayed out of the sex toys place."

"A condom bouquet gives an entirely different message than tulips," Vida agreed. "I prefer to say it with flowers."

"Though the condoms could eventually come in handy," said Dani, glancing in the direction of the hay loft. "Anyway, thank you for delivering my bouquet. You must work at that flower shop in town."
