Covent Garden Flowers, Wednesday, 9/22

Right, so after waking and having a few minutes of freaking out, calming down enough to breathe, and getting clothes and teasing from Layla, Dinah was now mostly dealing. For one thing, as a guy? She could totally track down Arthur and demand a spar now. Score. For another, she could do way more push-ups and lift more stuff. Muscles, yes! Any other speculation was getting shelved for much, much later.

Reese stopped by the flower shop. She handwavily found Dinah Lance's name in the records during the time Edward had himself thrown in a cell. More research led to Reese the shop where she's supposedly working.

She had to pick this day to do some questioning but doing nothing would also lead to Reese doing crazy, stupid things. So. Work.

"Dinah Lance?" She called out, using her cop voice.

Reese blinked. She-- he was tall. She frowned. Even as a man she can't catch a break. Sure she was taller in this body but anyone could be taller than a 5'4 woman.

"Are you Dinah Lance?" She asked.

She took out her shield, "Detective Reese, FPD. Can I ask you a few questions?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't worry," she assured him-her. Him. She scowled, it's hard working the pronouns. "I just want to ask if you know anything about an Edward of Andalasia."

So, she was right, Fandom crazy was the culprit. "It's just that? Went home and nothin' else?"

Reese decided to ignore everything about evil stepmothers and other worlds, doing save her sanity.

"We can't really do anything if that's the case, especially if she's the legal guardian and in... another place," she said. "Who's Layla Miller?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Where can I find her?" She asked. Reese crossed her arms, "You wouldn't also know a Kenshin Himura, would you?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"No," she said, "this is just a routine check, someone was concerned when he didn't appear, so I'm just asking." Reese raised an eyebrow, "Why'd you ask?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Reese didn't know how to respond to that but tried anyway.

"We try our best but things don't usually work out. And... leaping to conclusions doesn't help." She sighed, took out her LAPD cards. Yes, she was still using the cards. She had three boxes worth, she's not just going to throw 'em away. "Look, if you need anything you can just call me okay? The cell number's still current."

She looked at him blankly and didn't even articulate the 'huh'. Because, huh?

"Yes, usually a girl," Reese confirmed. "I usually have bits up here," she gestured to her chest, "Not equipment down there."

"We must have missed each other," she agreed. "Why were you visiting Day?"

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"You wanna be a PI? Really? Why not the join the Force?" She asked. "Police is better than a PI."

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Reese blinked at the floating tree then looked at Dinah. And then she felt her headache.

"Yeah, maybe."

[identity profile] gunandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Reese would like to argue the police was making a difference then remembered all the crap she had to deal with on the Force, not to mention the corruption.

"Maybe you have the right idea," she conceded. But Reese wasn't going to exchange her badge or uniform despite everything. She liked being part of the police. "Still, if you need anything, you can just call me."

Reese laughed, "Yeah, thanks. You too, Dinah."
