The graveyard, Wednesday afternoon

Castiel had found a rather interesting book in the church library, and was now out in the graveyard, attempting to identify which of the various plants growing there might be considered "wicked". So far, he'd managed to identify monkshood, henbane, poison sumac, several mushrooms, and three different members of the nightshade family (including tomatoes). They didn't look that threatening to him.

Castiel popped one of the mushrooms into his mouth and chewed thoughtfully. Really, humans were absurdly fragile.

[ooc: open, natch. This is what happens when you spend your evenings reading a book about "evil" plants]

"You hang out in the creepiest places, you know that?"

"You weren't aware that a place full of dead people was creepy?" Chuck asked. "You really need to watch more movies."

"Well it's not like I experience it first-hand where I'm from," Chuck said. "I've got more soap opera evil to deal with, which isn't really the same thing. Less demons, more people trying to sabotage your social life."

"Yeah, I'm sure it's demons that are trying to get nasty articles printed about me on Page Six right now," Chuck said with smirk. "It's just not something I've ever had to worry about. So I just fill in the blanks with movies."

"Well the stories have to come from somewhere, right?" Chuck said. "Besides, my movie knowledge helped with the zombie thing a couple months ago."

That knowledge taught him to hide in his room and not let anything bite him until the whole thing was over.

"Uh, no, you shoot them in the head," Chuck said. A lot of his spare time was dedicated to playing Left 4 Dead.

"Well the ones here were not taken down like that," Chuck said. "Or so I heard. I didn't exactly go out and fight."

"I don't really have any skills when it comes to those sort of things." That is why he hid in his room.

"Um...basic survival skills?" he tried. "I mean, really, I've only been in a life threatening situation once and Sam saved me from that."

And we don't even want to talk about his survival record in AU universes.

"If I do, they haven't been tested out," Chuck said. "I have people do stuff for me."

"I told you, I don't have to worry about that stuff at home. I don't even have to worry about learning to drive a car at home," he said. "And with all the people willing to do the hero work around here, I don't have to worry about learning this sort of stuff for Fandom either."

"I wouldn't say I have no desire for it," Chuck said. "It's just avoiding the situations completely seems a lot easier."

"See, when you say it like that it sounds bad," Chuck said. "But it makes a lot of sense considering where I come from. By Upper East Side standards, I have a ton of survival skills."

He could tell the difference between a cool, upscale club and a club that Paris Hilton was likely to frequent.

"It just doesn't translate well to Fandom."
