Atlas Gym | Thursday

Dimitri had indeed heard about the coming influx of relatives - there was no avoiding hearing the high-pitched squealing of the instructors as they went about their gossip wondering whose brother would be hotter and if anyone super tall would show for their manager.

Unconcerned about this himself, Dimitri simply went about preparing the gym for all the guest passes he expected would be in use for the weekend.

Still there was a sign in the window:
Atlas Gym
Now Hiring
NOTE: MUST BE CAPABLE OF PULLING OFF SPANDEX
See Manager for complete list of requirements and expectations.

Pretty much the whole week had seen Jaina trying to avoid worrying about things regarding the weekend that she really thought she had very good case to worry about, and by Thursday that meant heading down to the gym. "Just the guy I was looking for!" she greeted him.

"When you read in the gym? No, not really," she agreed. She may never get over that. "So I seem to remember you saying something about if I needed help with my training, you'd be around."

"Nope. I just want to spar and see how bad I get my ass kicked. It's a learning experience."

"That's once a week," she pointed out. "I train daily, and the punching bag doesn't hit back. Yet. Give it time."

Rose had been up too much of the night talking to Lissa on the phone and bitching about the fact St Vlad's couldn't seem to decide on security arrangements to allow the princess to come visit for the weekend.

It was, therefore, a moderately subdued Rose that pushed her way into the gym early Thursday morning. "Morning, Comrade," she called even though she knew by now Dimitri would have heard the door anyway.

"Always," she said instantly because what other response was there? She threw her bag over to the side of the wall. "Running today?"

Rose nodded, foregoing the snark as she tightened her ponytail and just listened to his explanation.

"See you when I get back then," she said, turning to go back out the way she came.

She returned an hour or so later in a much better mood though still less than happy and banged her way back into the gym.

"Miss me?"

The sign she'd noticed the previous week was still there. So was her need to do sommat useful with her time. Training seemed a good distraction and that was what a gym was for. At least, she'd deduced that from what she'd seen during the Fight Club meetings.

With Pounce at her heels, Beka entered the gym. One of the squealing instructors took a moment to point Dimitri out before going back to the squealing. She'd a feeling she'd not want to what it was about and headed across the gym.

Now all she needed to do was pretend this was Dog business. It didn't work as she was watching Dimitri's feet as she spoke up. "I apologize for interrupting, but they said that you're the manager?"

Twas easier to talk to stranges if she'd not look at them directly. Mayhap she should have worn her Dog uniform. It didn't bother as much when she wore it.

As it was, she remembered she needed to convince him and she jerked her head up, still not meeting his eyes. "I noticed you're looking for help. I wondered what the requirements are."

Not the desk, at least. Her hands gave that away. They were calloused like any Dog's from using the baton. That and she was in Fight Club.

"I've some experience training with others," she said. "I've not led a training." She'd never heard of aerobics or spandex, though.

"I'd not taught of it afore," she admitted. She was a Dog, but then she thought of stocky Ahuda wiping the floor with her Puppies and first year Dogs. "But if I'm to stay on this island, it'd not be a bad skill to pick up."
