Hoshi was a bit startled to find Gunther weeping when she got to the hotel. The cause of Gunther's tears was a note from Valentine saying that she was leaving Fandom and going home. All things considered, it was a well-written note with a postscript for Hoshi, wishing her the best of luck in dealing with Gunther.
Hoshi debated trying to comfort Gunther, but instead, she called the sous chef to come in early and deal with it. There were just some things that weren't in her job description.
