Chilly Boulder, Saturday afternoon

Sometimes there wasn't an answer to life's problems except for ice cream. So here Andy was at the Chilly Boulder, suggesting to the guy behind the counter that he really wanted to give Andy a super deluxe sundae for free.

Hey, powers caused by demon blood or not, free ice cream was free ice cream and how could there be any bad there?

When the letter came in the mail, Webber hadn't really believed it. To spend so much time looking for his brother, only to have Andy's school find him first? It was too good to be true, but he still made the trip just in case. The island was, well, island-sized, so he was hoping Andy wouldn't be hard to find--and then he walked by a store and there he was. Webber went inside quietly, just checking him out at first, making sure he was the real deal.

Andy grinned widely as the ice cream guy handed him a huge monstrosity of a sundae. "Thanks, dude. I really appreciate it. Looks great!"

"Are you gonna be able to eat all that yourself?" Webber asked, approaching him with a friendly expression.

"I don't know," Andy said, giving the stranger a friendly smile. "But I'm going to have fun trying!"

He was so happy and friendly that Webber was almost taken aback. "You're so not what I expected."

That comment brought Andy up short and he took a closer look at the guy. "Should I know you?" he asked with a little frown.

"I don't know," he said, sitting down. "It depends on whether you've been looking for me like I've been looking for you."

Andy took a seat opposite him. "I haven't been looking for anybody," he said, though he sounded a little unsure.

Now he really didn't understand how he'd gotten that invitation, but he wasn't going to complain. "I've been looking for you, ever since I started looking for my real family," he said.

Andy perked up at that. "You're adopted too?"

"Yeah, I am," he said, glad that he didn't have to be the one to drop that bombshell on Andy. Tact wasn't exactly his strongest suit. "I started looking for my birth parents after I learned the truth, and then I found out that I have a brother who was adopted too."

"Cool, do you know where he is?" Andy asked before his brain fully processed all the facts. When it did, he paused and blinked at the other guy more closely. "...Me?"

"You are Andrew Gallagher, aren't you?" he said. "You're older than the picture I found, but..."

"You found a picture of me?"

"Yeah, you can find stuff like that on anyone if you know who to talk to." And how to talk to them.

"And we're really brothers?"

"My name's Ansem. But you can call me Webber, most people do," he said. "We're not just brothers. We're twins. I guess they couldn't keep us together when we were put up for adoption."

"I never knew any of that," Andy said. "Well aside from the adopted part."

"Did you ever think about looking for our parents? Or did you just not find them?" Webber asked.

Andy shook his head. "I never looked. It would have felt like saying to my Dad that he wasn't good enough, that our family wasn't good enough."

"You must have a dad you don't mind saying that too," Webber replied, looking a little jealous for a moment.

"He's great, yeah," Andy said. "What about you? What's your family like?"

"They're okay," he said with a shrug. "But I've always felt...different from them, you know? Like I didn't belong. Finding out I was adopted made a lot of sense. What I don't get is, if you haven't been looking for me, then why did I get a letter from your school to come here?"

Andy blinked. "You got a letter from the school?" And wow, he needed to work on this repeating everything Webber said thing he seemed to have going.

"Yeah, about this weekend for families and stuff," Webber said. "I don't know, maybe the school found out I was looking for you or something? What matters is that I found you."

"Yeah," Andy said, a slow smile crossing his face. He had a brother!

"Do you like it here? I can't imagine getting shipped off to boarding school would be fun," Webber said.

"I do. But this isn't your normal boarding school," Andy explained, finally digging into his ice cream and waving his spoon around between bites. "Now that I think about it, you getting sent an invite isn't as weird as it would have been coming from somewhere else."

"I figured it wasn't totally normal, with no uniforms or anything," Webber said. "It sure looks weird around here."
