Movie Sign Theater 3000, Friday Night
After handwavily deciding to spend a night out from the dorms, they had finally decided on a movie with treats.
"I think I saw the original version of this on television once," she mused as they waited in line for popcorn. "Or at least the television series. My older sister has an unhealthy obsession with the genre."
Now Showing:
GLORY
[OOC: For the not-a-date, up early for massive SP joy.]

It didn't seem to him that you needed so many stories about that.

Emma did not plan on taking this movie seriously, no. Movies like this were for mocking.

Just over a year of not having enough food had been bad enough, as far as Emma was concerned. Seven meant that Jack could have all the junk food he wanted.

He started walking toward the theater. "how do you plan to get even with society as a whole?"

"You show me any growing high school student that passes up food, and I'll show you an impostor," she teased, keeping pace with him. "Have you seen the way people gravitate towards common rooms the moment someone starts cooking? It's an invisible siren's lure to anyone in the building at the time."
"Besides, if you were still that thin, I would have to take it up with that guardian of yours. I doubt his preferences for clever women include having one beat him about the head with a cookbook." No, Emma did not particularly care that she couldn't cook, or whether or not Jack's vampire needed to eat. It was the thought that counted.
"And if I tell you my nefarious plans, then they won't be a surprise, will they?" she teased. "Don't worry, darling, it involves crashing a lot more parties, and you're still invited."
no subject
Ah, I forgot," he said. "You don't just want to rule the world; you want to surprise everyone else while you do it. Well, if there are parties, I'm in."
no subject
"It's no fun if it isn't a surprise," she agreed, giving him a wink before glancing around the theatre. "Why be dull when we can be fantastic?"
"Now, where do we want to sit?"
no subject
"How would you feel about exactly in the middle?" Jack asked. "Our fellows seem to have been kind enough to give us almost the whole theater. We may as well use it."
no subject
"Then we're close enough to throw popcorn if we get truly annoyed," Emma laughed. "I feel like a queen, getting it to ourselves like this."
"So do you have any plans for break?" she asked as she picked her way to a seat. "Daring adventures, or a long bout of idleness?"
[OMG BUSY. Sorry!]

"You wouldn't get lonely, wandering the halls with half the school gone? I think I would." She favored him with a small smile. "I've gotten used to all the chatter - " verbal and mental, " - and I think that much quiet would drive me mad."

He could be distracting, too.

< Oodles of socks, I'm sure, > she put in dryly. < And yes, darling, I'm sure it's full of things going boom. Mindless entertainment is all the rage these days. >
He'd stopped pushing for her earlier, she'd return the favor now. But that didn't mean she wouldn't sit on him in the not-fun-way later and pry it all out of him.

Still, Jack's distraction was obvious, and Emma hummed in amusement. < Well, now I know another type of movie that can hold your attention, besides the classics. >

< And get your mind out of the gutter. I'll have none of that nonsense of a perfectly good night out. >

"Although luckily for both of us, there's most likely a plethora of pretty boys in this movie."
Mmm. Pretty. Emma was perfectly happy to ogle the oh-so-tormented artists while she mocked them.
