In an odd turn of events, when Zack showed up for his shift at the Café Fina, he was the subdued one, and the dishes were the ones who were full of bounce and excitement.
"Zack," a saucer cheered, "are you a hero yet?"
"I guess. Kinda?" Zack blinked at her, and then at the rest of the staff, and then he sighed and went to grab an apron. "Anyhow, I have work to do."

It was all of five minutes later that the Pepper Shaker orchestrated the wild plans to execute a group-hug-from-behind manoeuvre. Zack found himself half smothered under a heap of assorted kitchen implements and cutlery, and spent the rest of the day grinning.
