The Perk [Friday late morning/afternoon]

It should be little wonder to anyone that the first stop Rory made once she got to the island was at the Perk. Yes, she had Juliet, who was awake and peeking out of her little stroller, but coffee was a priority, too.

She sent a text to Anakin, so he wouldn't wonder where she was, and decided to indulge in the biggest mocha she could locate.

Tara was in the Perk for chai and a banana nut muffin, and she smiles when she spotted Juliet. Usually she wouldn't talk to strangers, but babies weren't strangers. They were babies.

"Hi, cutie," she told the little girl in the stroller, then, self-consciously, added to the mother, "S-she's just adorable."

"Thanks," Rory said warmly, then took a good look at the girl who'd said it.

Oh.

"...hi," she added, curiously and cautiously.

"You have pretty eyes," Tara told the baby, then glanced up at Rory and stepped back a little. "Oh -- s-s-s-s-sorry. Am I too close? I -- I don't have a cold or anything."

"No, you're fine, Tara," Rory assured her, still tilting her head. She figured the subsequent reaction would answer her question as to whether she was the Tara she'd known. Or an entirely different person, for that matter.

Tara looked up and frowned. "I -- have we met?" she asked simply. "I don't ... sorry."

The thought flashed through her mind that this could be her dad's way of checking on her, but she doubted he'd send a woman and a baby.

And there we go. "Nope," Rory said reassuringly. "Um, I went to high school here and I knew a version of you. I'm Rory Skywalker, by the way. And this is Juliet."

Skywalker. Yeah, Tara had heard that story before.

"Oh!" Tara said. "You're, uh, Professor Skywalker's wife. He's mentioned you and the baby in class."

She held out her finger for the baby to try to grab. "I'm one of his TAs this term. He -- he mentioned the me who taught when he g-gave me the job." Her tone was curious, but not inordinately so. She still thought it was weird a her in any world would choose to teach.

It's entirely possible Bridge knows or at least suspects this would be where he'd find a Rory.

Or maybe he just wants some coffee.

Heck, could be both.

Either way, he's here, grinning like a dork as soon as he catches sight of Rory. "Hey, you!" he exclaims, wandering over once he's got his coffee. "Long time no see."

"Hi!" Rory exclaimed, bouncing up out of her seat to go hug him. Because he would so mind that, or something. "How are you? There's someone I want you to meet."

Oh yes. Bridge totally hates hugs, with the passion of a... yeah no who are we kidding he totally hugs back.

"I'm going to assume you don't mean the same thing the bad guys back home mean when they say that," Bridge informs her.

"Not unless they're using babies' weapons of cuteness," Rory said thoughtfully.

"They're totally anti-cute," Bridge says with a nod. He then kneels down to get a good look at Juliet. "Which means I think she'd send them running, because hiiii there..." he wiggles his fingers at the baby.

Juliet cooed and kicked her little legs in response, for she was a terribly chatty person. For being four months old, anyway.

"Bridge Carson," Rory said formally, "I'd like you to meet Lorelai Juliet Skywalker. She says she's very pleased to meet you," she added as an aside.

Luke needed coffee like a person who hadn't slept in a few days. Which in fact he was. He looked worn out.

He rubbed his eyes and smiled when he saw who was in the shop.

"Hi, Mom," he said teasingly, walking over.

"You look like death warmed over," Rory said in her tactful, tactful way, looking concerned as she went to hug him.

"Oh, you know," Luke said, clinging a little tightly. "Jetlag. I'll catch a nap when I check into the hotel."

"And now I feel guilty about asking you to babysit your baby sister," Rory noted fretfully.

"Don't," Luke said, pulling back to smile at Rory. "How often do I get a chance to see her? What's she doing now? Can she talk yet?"

No, Luke.

"She's not quite that precocious. And right now she's looking at you," she added, looking down at Juliet, who was solemnly staring up at them.

Raven didn't have classes on Friday, so she wandered into town, mostly to give herself some distance from all the excitement in the dorms over Homecoming, and decided to get a cup of tea at the Perk.

As she ordered her tea, she noticed Rory and the baby and put two and two together. "Excuse me," she said shyly, walking over to Rory's table, "but are you Mrs. Skywalker?"

Truth be told she lucked out. She might've assumed that Willow was Anakin's wife if she'd been there with her baby.

"I sure am," Rory said happily, because it was still fun to be called that. She had a guess as to who this was, just because she'd asked Anakin for a description of the girl who'd called her that week, but she still added, "And this is Juliet. I'm not sure we've had the pleasure?"

"I am one of your husband's students," Raven said. "My name is Raven."

"He's mentioned you!" Rory said, brightening right up. "You're the one who called me when the scary, um, vampire thing happened, right?"

Raven nodded. "I was one of the first to awaken because my body in the Other Fandom died. I knew you would be worried about Professor Skywalker and that he would want you to know that he was all right." Well, as all right as anyone could've been in that world, but.

"I'm so glad to finally meet you," Rory said, smiling a little. "Thank you, seriously, for that call. I was going kind of crazy."
