Homecoming Carnival, The Park, All Day [Post #1]

In keeping with the Homecoming theme, this year's carnival had a harvest festival look to it - mainly because most of the decorations from the dance had been moved out to the park to join the tents, booths, and vendors as they'd gotten set up bright and early this morning. The day was turning out to be cool but sunny, the smell of carnival food was in the air, and everything was ready for the island's inhabitants and guests to have some fun.

She would have considered that very high praise, indeed.

"Shall I assume that you didn't sign up for this?" she asked, taking the subject to slightly safer ground. "The school has fun ideas about who should and shouldn't participate in its activities. I had a kissing booth last year, though I don't recall if it was voluntary on my part."

"No, I didn't," he said. "Perhaps I should have just refused. People seem to enjoy this too much."

"I can stand here and frown at people, in an effort to scare them away," she offered. "Use my knife to clean under my fingernails, that ought to send the proper message."

And clean her fingernails with her knife, as promised.
