That was it. That was the last straw. The dishes had been expecting another week of a somewhat pouty Zack after the puppyfaces that he was pulling on his last shift, and here he comes, marching in like he has the world by the tail, grinning like an idiot?

Well, they weren't about to let their dastardly plans for a massive cheer-up-Zack guerrilla hugging campaign go to waste, damn it all.

So Zack was now in a good mood and being smothered randomly by tackleglomping ninja huggy dish-people throughout the course of the day. It was a good shift, if you were the puppy!

The dishes promise to keep their hugging to just Zack, unless you ask otherwise.

There was no way Dōjima was letting everyone go back to their worlds without getting a proper sit-down dinner. It just wasn't happening.

Besides, Fina had good sweets for dessert, and they all deserved to be a bit spoiled. So here she was, grabbing a booth and a menu, reading over it delightedly. "Ano, it all looks so good...We could always get a few things and share..."

"One of everything on the dessert menu?" Romeo offered. He was still unsettled by his encounter with Tybalt, but determined not to let it spoil their meal. "And appetizers. Those are always the best bits, desserts and appetizers."

"I don't care what we get, so long as I can get some packed up to take back with me," Reno decided. "What looks like it keeps the longest without bein' stuck in the fridge?"

He was poring over the menu contents, partly because it was real food, and partly because if he looked busy, maybe on the off-chance that Zack recognized him as a Turk, he wouldn't come over and interrupt.

"We can always get extra," Rikku chirped. "You know, get a pile of things and stock the fridge like that? Do you think they have cheesecake? I haven't had cheesecake in so long."

"All the appetizers, all the desserts, and when something runs out, bring more," Yurika ordered the hapless ~~NPC~~ waiter, waving her menu. "Extra cheescake, and two bottles of wine to start."

She was sure that if anyone wanted something different, they'd speak up, but she was hungry and wanted to eat, darn it.

Romeo turned to Rikku. "So," he said, without prompting, "you must tell us how you saved the world."

"Oh!" Rikku sat up a little straighter. "That! I don't know that I saved it, but I helped it, I mean, that's good, right? We had a conference. Dojima's been saying that I need to just start bitchslapping everyone who's being all childish and not getting along, right? And we couldn't for a while, because no one was listening and I couldn't think of anything to hit them with, except just punching people and I wasn't gonna stop if I started. So I got Yunie to do it. She's kinda ... she's High Summoner now. If she woke up tomorrow and declared herself Queen High Ruler of the Universe, no one would say anything about it. She saved the world, you know? So she told everyone that they had to sit down and talk to each other like grown-ups or she was going to be Displeased and she'd make sure they weren't part of the process any more."

It is days like today that I am jealous of the puppy. Ninja hugs!

And then I remember canon, and I get over it.
