The Perk, Monday Late Morning/Lunch

Class had been way too funny and Ino was in a very snickery mood about the reminder of last year’s Halloween when she drifted down to the Perk for hot chocolate.

That was, okay, three quarters whipped cream. Shush.

Her amusement had a bit of a wistful tinge to it, though, as she thought that this time, one year later, about how things had changed. Just a bit of wistfulness, though. And sulkiness that her dad had called her home for a training session (who went home for a training session, geeeez?) and she'd missed seeing Reno.

But most of her was busy trying to remember what they’d done with the second Smoochy (she was pretty sure his tortured body was still living in her closet and wasn’t that a macabre-but-hilarious thought?) and if Tyler-sen--Mr. Durden--had ever noticed it had gone missing.

HMMM.

See Ino. See Ino plotting. Plot Ino, plot.

[Oooopen post! That Ino is Plotting Something is fine for broadcast, but anything dealing with Smoochy directly is NFB please!]

A horse stopped outside the Perk, while it's rider came in to get a little something. He'd heard tell of something called a pumpkin latte and was intrigued.

He tried not to worry about the fact that the kid inside looked like they were plotting something.

"What's under all that whipped cream?" he asked Ino while he waited for his drink.

"They can be very picky about the whipped cream around here." Tully nodded. "Hi yourself. You a student up at the school?" Mun has no idea if they've met already or not.

And now he thought he remembered her. "What are you studying?"

[Oh yeah! Sorry.]

"Ah, the advanced classes." They didn't have propaganda classes in his high school. Unless you counted journalism. Which, he hadn't taken. "I'm a little curious about how peanut brittle would be useful in the outside world."

"I can see how that would work. Unless the person your bribing can't handle hard things like that."

Tully was going to go with the assumption that she was. "With the peanut brittle?" It sounded workable to him. It was hard stuff.

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2009-10-26 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"If the peanut brittle is too big for you, then that could help break it down into eatable bits."

"As long as you remember to wash the hammer after using it for more conventional things."

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2009-10-26 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wouldn't be surprised if there were hammers made specially for that purpose." There should be anyway.

"It could be useful for other foods too. Breaking up ice, rock hard cookies..."

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2009-10-26 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay good point." He finally got his latte. "Ever have a pumpkin latte?"

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
He wasn't sure what she meant actually. "I was hoping you could tell me what I'm in for. Are you meeting someone?"

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2009-10-27 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh." Tully laughed. "Yeah okay I understand that. Hot chocolate with whipped cream is a good source for that this time of year."
