JGoB, Monday evening

After closing up the shop tonight, Aphrodite hadn't felt like just heading home. Instead, she took a walk through town, ending up at JGoB,or Jeff, That Guy of Biscuits, as she called him. Picking up some scones for herself and cookies for Raven to have at the shop tomorrow, she winked at the kid behind the counter and headed out the door.

Not paying any attention to where she was going, she bumped into someone on the sidewalk and apologized, looking up to see a familiar face in front of her.

"Max! Really good to see you! What are you up to tonight?"

"Well," Max laughed in delight, "I was contemplating a boring night back at my apartment, but now I'm thinking things promise to be much more interesting.

"Yeah, I wasn't really looking forward to a night in." She shrugged. "Or even a night out by myself." With a smile, Aphrodite took his arm. "Would you care to join me for an evening of . . . something?"

"I would love to," Max smiled, leaning into her slightly. "We could make a night out of it." Not that he was opposed to indoor activities, of course.

Aphrodite knew that smile.

"Maaaaax! We can do that anytime! Why not do something else tonight?" She stepped away. "It's a beautiful night! Doesn't it make you wanna . . . I don't know, get wild or something? We're hip, we're hot, we're young -- or, you are, at least -- and I just wanna go have some fuuuun!" Her face now in a pout, she moved back to his side. "What d'ya say?"

"Well, I have to admit that I wouldn't mind showing off a bit, and there's nothing better for that than a beautiful woman on your arm." He cocked his head. "Does the lady have something in mind?"

"Well, there's . . . no, that's no good. Or, we could . . . no, that's boring." She sighed. "Not really anything on island. Don't suppose you know a place we could go on the mainland? I haven't been yet."

"Hmm," Max considered the question. "I know a couple of fun places. Dancing? Or maybe a few rounds of pool?"

"Ah! Pool!" 'Dite clapped her hands in delight. "I haven't played pool in forever! Please?" She batted her lashes at him, then widened her eyes. "Oooh! I know!" And with a wave of her she was wearing black leather pants and a pink leather jacket. "How's that? Do I look acceptable for a pool hall?"

Max took a long, appreciative look at those pants. "Those pants almost make me object to going out for pool," he grinned. "I think you'll be juuust fine."

"Eeeeexcellent!" With another wave, the cookies and scones disappeared, and she wrapped her now empty hands around Max's arm. "So, where shall we go? Lead on, stud!"

There'd be time for what Max wanted later, after she spent an evening teasing him and all the other men in the pool hall.

"You're going to make everyone drool looking like that," Max teased as he began walking. He approved of that, really.

Leaning close, she whispered, "That . . . is the whole point." Then she winked and laughed. "Come on! Let's go play some pool (http://furious-maximus.livejournal.com/5622.html)!"
