Pirate Radio [Friday afternoon]

In honor of Halloween tomorrow, Jack was playing the most terrifying music he could find.

Oh yes.

It was a boy band marathon.

Currently, it was all 98 Degrees ALL THE TIME. You lucky, lucky people.

So, of course he was gonna get a call. Since someone had the day off an all that.

"Turn off the teenybopper shit and play something good," Deadpool replied, showing just how good he was on the telephone as well. "I mean, c'mon. I know you gotta show off your latent homosexuality in a way other than eyeliner and all that, but this is ridonkulous."

Deadpool was used to that, so it was all cool.

"I'm so glad you asked! Play the Monster Mash."

If he could, he'd play that shit on loop. And not just because Jan needed to know how to dance like a douche to it. Nuh-uh.

"Then why are you not playing it in honor of the fine and noble tradition of DJs everywhere before Halloween?"

"Don't we all?" Deadpool shook that off. "Nevermind now! Get to the monsters mashing stuff before I have to come down there and throw knifes."

Oh, the hell with this. Elena was dialing her phone.

"Do you enjoy pain?" she asked. "Or just hate the rest of us?"

"So what's with the crimes against music?" she asked, instead. "You can't be that drunk."

Even Reno never got drunk enough to think this was decent music.

And she had footage of him reciting Loveless while completely blotto, so.

"Okay, that's a better answer than I was expecting," she said. "I do have a sense of dread going. It's more rage than fear. And it makes me want to offer you bribes, to stop the madness. Do you take bribes?"

"I can respect that," she said. Entirely too many businesspeople were the same way. At least the pirates were up front about it. It was sort of refreshing. "Liquor, gold coins, skanky amounts of cleavage?"

"Any particular flavor you like, for your bribes?" she asked. "I'd make some requests, while I'm at it, but you probably don't have the tracks I'd want anyway."

'Anything that isn't this crap' would work.

"Done," Elena said. "Bottle of rum, handful of gold coins. I'm not sure what percentage the alloy is, but they're real. Fair warning, if I fork it over and you go back to the shit music ..."

"Naturally," she said. "I'll be there in five. Play something good in the meantime."
