Fourth Dimension Fine Arts & Antiques, Monday (11/9)

The exercises in calligraphy were still up - modern Western, Arabic done in lights, and delicate Chinese -- but in addition to that, Sophie was working on posters to be posted around town.

Colette wandered in, looking at this and that, and aiming a smile at the woman when she deigned to notice her. "Allo."

"Maybe," Colette said, lingering before a piece of modern art. "My apartment is a bit dreary. What is a good value?"

"Colette Tatou," Colette said, glancing up at the woman as she looked over the art. "I'm a cook. Well, teaching, now, but really a cook. It is a pleasure to meet you."

She glanced at the first work but seemed more interested in the second. "Is that just a photograph? Or was it done in the computer?"
thetoughestcook: (tolerating this)

"Too much," Colette said, just making small talk. "I'm used to the restaurant schedule, not to one class a week. The students have me cooking Thanksgiving, so at least I should be a bit less bored for the next few weeks?"

She shrugged one shoulder. "What did you teach?"
thetoughestcook: (real - ridiculously adorable)

"I could." Colette was perking up, but she was trying not to look like she was perking up. "The cause is the theater, yes? Why do you need money?"

Colette's eyes narrowed coolly. This was something she could do -- would love to do -- but business was business. "I could do that," she said. "Would the theater reimburse me for my costs? Good ingredients, alas, are not free, and I would go to the mainland to buy the best...."

"I'll do a main course, a vegetable and a starch," Colette said, already planning menus in her head. Some kind of stew, perhaps, a light salad, potatoes... "So -- three."

Colette wrinkled her nose. "I don't know what Moobyland is and I do not want to," she announced, accepting the card. "That should work. I appreciate the offer, Sophie."

Colette shot a conspiratorial grin at Sophie. "See how you like my food," she said. "And then we will see what kind of deal we can make."
