Cable had considered leaving the dingo at home. He had.

Unfortunately, the combination of upset dingo, baby and - by proxy - fox and dog meant that there really was only one course of action to take.

He'd brought the dingo. If nothing else, all the food would keep him busy. He helped Jan into her chair, and shot Wade a look that communicated best behaviour.

The dingo just started clawing at the golden stars Jan had pasted onto his ears again.

Oh come on, after all the effort Ino had gone through to talk the nurses into letting her hang out for at least a little while as if she'd have not shown up.

She was contemplating the food and flopped out in a chair while she did so. Hmmm.

Summer found herself a seat, not sure what she should sample first. Hmm, maybe sampling a little bit of every thing would work.

Hoshi had not skipped out work. She decided that her job was here today to keep an eye on Gunther and make sure he didn't do anything silly.

The event seemed like a good cause and Griff had gotten himself some fresh coffee and a bit of cake before taking a seat at one of the tables.

Colette had sample-size portions of quiche lorraine, a salmon and spinach terrine served over rice, and an endive salad with roquefort. She was watching the people come and go with a mix of eagerness and benign disdain.

Oooooo. Dinah had to stop by here as she ping-ponged from booth to booth. "That all smells delicious. Could I have a little of each thing, please? And I don't recognize this one," she said, pointing to the terrine. "But it looks goooood."

Priestly was a little bit intimidated to be there, so he was possibly just a liiiiittle bit more over the top than he usually was.

Not so easy to do.

Well, either way, he had loads of premade sandwiches, especially his signature turkey and sprouts, and lots of extra stuff to make things to order.

Dinah wandered over, a handful of tickets in her grasp, and grinned at Priestly. "Hey! Ooo, looks yummy. Special sandwich for me? Please?"

Liir, of course, had put out a rather nice little spread of assorted cakes and pies and whatnot. There were hazelnut chocolate cookies (don't ask the name if you don't want to know), french walnut cake (http://community.livejournal.com/food_porn/5609888.html#cutid1), carrot pineapple cake (http://community.livejournal.com/food_porn/5601663.html#cutid1), and many varieties of miniature pies (http://community.livejournal.com/food_porn/5552940.html#cutid1). He'd also put out summer ice and his rather well known brownies.

And muffins. Considering who the benefit was for, it was necessary.

When Aphrodite arrived she was promptly given a booth, the box of cookies she'd taken to Sophie on display. She pouted for a moment, saying she really hadn't wanted to sit behind a table, but secretly she was happy. Fandom! People! Cookies!

She totally wasn't sneaking cookies to eat as she sat there. Except she was.

Re: Arms Hotel / Chef Gunther contribution

[identity profile] montecito-east.livejournal.com 2009-11-14 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
Gunther had an Oktoberfest-themed menu at the hotel booth, serving up generous helpings of bratwurst, wiener schnitzel, potato dumplings, sauerkraut and, of course, his famous apfelstrudel.

But he kept looking around for the cameras. See, he had this idea that Bobby Flay was going to show up and challenge him to a German food throwdown. At least he would be on his best behavior all day.
