To the inexperienced, it may look like Rose was sleeping on the mats. Dozing, resting her eyes.

The inexperienced would be wrong. This was a very highly skilled meditation technique that she was trying out.

Called napping.

Despite the fact that he'd never been near this place, he still knew Rose worked here and that this was her day. Hey, the radio was helpful for a few things.

So, pushing inside the door, he immediately slowed and quieted his step when he saw her sleeping.

And then he proceeded to pull out his cell phone and take a picture. Say cheese, Rose.

She was napping, sure, but she also knew that she never ever wanted Dimitri to catch her napping.

So when the footsteps weren't the tappity-tap of Jessi or one of the other aerobics girls, it was a bit worrying.

She cracked an eye open then whipped a ball (racquetball even though they didn't have racquetball courts) towards Alex.

Oh, too bad Alex had already gotten the picture and was now jumping out of the way of that ball while laughing. She might not have been sleeping but her guard had been down enough to get the evidence!

"Evil," Rose complained, sitting up and checking quickly to make sure there was no drool. "Now you wanna erase the picture so I don't have to kill you someday for it."

"Oh no," he said, flipping his phone shut and tucking it in his back pocket. "No, this stays with me. You looked so cute! Why would I erase it?"

"Cause it was too easy to get so it can't be worth that much?" Rose tried.

"Nice try," he said sweetly, shaking his head. "Not erasing it, Rosemarie. It goes in my collection. I'm just shocked that I haven't gotten one of you before."

"What? Your collection of blackmail material?" she asked. "Cause I'm not surprised you have one."

"Something like that," he said. Yes, it was exactly that. "I'm sure I could find a person or two who'd like to see a picture of you asleep on the job."

"Dimitri's usually at the hotel on his day off," Rose offered. Because Alex and Dimitri in the same room was the best idea ever. "You could find him there. Guy has no social life."

"Dimitri?" Alex asked, raising an eyebrow. "New boyfriend?"

Rose rolled her eyes. "No, the guy that runs the gym, Alex."

"Hey, you're the one that knows where he is and what he does on his days off," he said, wandering closer. "Seemed to be a thing a girl knows about her guy."

Skipping the dorm gym today, Jaina frowned when she arrived. "One reads on the mats, one sleeps, doesn't anyone just throw each other around anymore?"

"Are you offering?" Rose asked, opening her eyes. "Cause I can't really throw Jessi around. It's no contest."

"If you're up for it," she said. "Though watching someone get thrown around might be kind of fun."

"Yeah, Jessi's not up for it so much after last time," Rose said sadly. "She was telling me how she'd taken cardiokickboxing forever."

She glanced over at Jaina as she got up. The urge to pry was so strong with this one.

"That... is not a martial art," Jaina pointed out. She herself was realizing she'd probably have to get used to the prying. "But it's cute of her to try."

"She doesn't wanna try again," Rose said, grinning just a little.

"Smart girl," she said. "Quiet day, I'm guessing?"

"Holy crap, yes," Rose said, making a face. "There's nothing to do, and I'm sick of drills."

She grinned, backing further onto the mats. "So if you did wanna hit someone, I'd be totally up for it."

"Does that mean you're not hitting back?" Jaina smiled in return.

"Hell, no, where's the fun in that?" Rose smirked. "Might as well hit the punching bag for that."

"The punching bag doesn't snark," she pointed out.

"Which totally makes me way cooler," she teased. "How badly d'you need to hit things?"
