While Mary waited at the front desk for a visitor, she dared to take another look at the Las Vegas newspapers. No, the gossip about Danny and Delinda and the stripper had not died down, even with Delinda giving an interview where she claimed that the stripper's story wasn't true at all.

Either way, it was going to make for a very interesting Thanksgiving -- if this year's get-together happened at all.

Aphrodite appeared in the lobby at exactly two minutes to two. She was trying to appear mature and responsible and had put on a skirt and heels for this. Also glasses. Just because.

Not that anyone who had met her would be fooled.

"Mary, so nice to see you. How are you today?"

Mary might have gawked at the woman for a moment. While she was still somewhat recognizable as Aphrodite, she almost looked like a different person with the glasses.

"I'm good," said Mary, finally finding her voice. "Just, uh, catching up with some news about people at home, and trying to decide what I'm going to do for Thanksgiving if my plans fall through."

"Turkey day! You know, I have an invitation to my son's, but I think I might just find a beach somewhere . . . maybe go sailing." Her eyebrow lifted as she slid the glasses down her nose. "You know, you'd be welcome to come along." And she winked, then stopped and bit her lip, sliding the glasses back on. "Um, what I mean is . . . are you ready to show me those banquet rooms?"

"I'll keep that in mind, depending on what happens with this situation with my Las Vegas friends," said Mary. "Anyway, the main ballroom is this way, with the smaller one right next door. The smaller ballroom is the one I used for my last big party, but the main ballroom with fit the entire population of Fandom. I'm assuming that's the space you'll need."
