Wellspring: Monday

There are many things that Klingons are good at. Drinking. Fighting. Writing poems about fighting. Long boring stories about the importance of honor.

Mostly fighting.

The one thing Klingons aren't good at? Christmas shopping. Worf was aware of the tradition but really failed when it came to finding items to give to others.

This might explain why a Kliingon's antagonistic nature.

So anyone entering Wellspring today might find Worf behind the counter scowling at a catalog or two.

Rose had the two damn babies, yes, but they were at least quiet and sleeping just now in a sling. So she figured she'd poke her nose into Wellspring to see if Worf was around.

And lo! He was. She grinned as she pushed through the door and made her way to the counter. "Haven't seen you in a while."

"I have been studying intently," Worf replied seriously as he eyed the android babies. "I see you are Professor Skywalker's class this semester. I trust you have had a busy week?"

"It's been like a week and a half," she said, pouting a little. "It's horrible."

"When I was in his class they used a creature called an Ewok," Worf said showing some sympathy.

Well as much sympathy as he could muster.

"It was rather... educational. However I only had one child. How did you end up with two?"

"Luck of the draw?" Rose suggested. "I think Professor Skywalker thinks he's funny. What's an Ewok? Does it cry as loud as a kid?"

"It resembled a small bear," Worf said with a frown. "They did cry though most of the time they were bouncy. And rather disobedient."

"Didn't listen properly, huh?" Rose teased.

"Not at all," Worf grumbled and missing any attempt at humor from Rose. "It refused to stay on schedule and would frequently insist on playing with items it should not. Clearly it was without purpose and goals."

"Wonder how much purpose and goals you had when you were a baby," she said thoughtfully.

On one hand, he was making her thank God that her babies weren't mobile.

"I was quite driven as child," Worf said puffing out his chest. "And I've been told quite energetic."

Which was the polite way his adopted mother had put it.

"So not much has changed really?" she asked innocently.

"I would like to think I have mellowed over the years," Worf said with a smirk. "Were you not the same as a child?"

"Well, I'm not mellow," Rose said, making a face at him. "I might've thrown crayons at my kindergarten teacher. I'd probably do it again. She ws kinda a bitch."

"I never displayed such rebelliousness," Worf replied. "Although I did fight several teenagers when I was seven who were being rather disrespectfu."

"And I bet you're totally surprised I was a rebellious kid," she teased, leaning against the counter. "So what were the teenagers doing?"

"They were rather uninformed regarding my Klingon heritage," Worf replied. "So I gave them a lesson. And I'm not surprised at all regarding your background. You are rather... adventurous.

"You better have totally kicked their asses," Rose said, frowning. Yeah, she knew he said he was seven. "I'll go with adventurous. It's nicer than it could have been."

"Let's just say they never gave me any trouble again," Worf replied. "However I was taken to the principal's office for violence. My mother was rather displeased. Would you not describe yourself as adventurous?"

"Hey, you were totally defending yourself," she argued. "Your mom should be good with it. The older kids were in the wrong." She shrugged. "I like the way it sounds so let's go with it."

"Very well," Worf replied. "How goes your training? Have you progressed in your fighting skills?"

"Dimitri seems happy," Rose said with a little bit of a shrug. Except when he didn't. "Wanna try it out sometime? It's been a while since we sparred."

"I would look forward to it," Worf said inclining his head in acknowledgement.

"Anytime," Rose said with a quick smile. She leaned over to eye the catalogs. "What'd I interrupt?"

Worf frowned. "Refamiliarizing myself with holiday traditions of this world," he distastefully. "Apparently this involves shopping."

"It could involve crafts instead," Rose suggested helpfully.

"That is for children," Worf said with a little stuffiness. "Of which I am not."

"Thank God," Rose said dryly. "Cause that would have cause problems in the past..."

"Klingons mature much faster than humans," Worf informed her. "In order for us to be ready for battle. We spend little time making... diorama with popsicle sticks. And the like."

Which totally hadn't been what Rose meant and probably it was better that way...

"Huh, maybe we should make one now," she teased. "Just to see what it's like."

"That will not be necessary," Worf replied tightly. "Unless your children are in need of some sort of activity.

"They're not my children," she said quickly. "They're crazy robot babies. So no, no worries."
