Trooper Station: Tuesday

Egg nog.

The phones were ringing off the hook today from complaining town folk regarding the sudden appearence of egg nog coming from various faucets, shower heads and water fountains.

"What do you want me to do?" Gibbs snapped at the citizen calling in. "Arrest a bunch of pipes? Drink the damn stuff and stop calling here."

Gibbs might have been a bit more polite with the townspeople of Fandom but unfortunately the island weirdness had violated rule #23 so the coffee machines were dispensing hot egg nog today.

And you should never mess with a marine's coffee.

Vimes avoided the phonecall by sheer virtue of not allowing a phone in his office. Right about now it was backing up that being a good choice.

"It's not even Hogswatch," He grumbled once he poured himself the worst hot cup of eggnog in his life. "Isn't there a wizard around to get on fixing this?"

"You can do that?" Vimes looked over at poor Ralph as well. "Why wasn't I told you could do that?"

Vimes just stared at him like he waiting for the explanation to involve imps inside a box.

"Whatever happened to a pencil and paper?" Vimes asked, giving a dirty look to--no, that wasn't a computer. It was a fax machine. But he thought it was a computer.

Somewhere... Ralph was trying very hard not to have a nervous breakdown.

"I think I can handle that."
