'Dite's Decadent Delights, Wednesday afternoon
There were trees, tiny trees, tiny Christmas-y trees, and a fuming goddess of love.
Aphrodite wasn't upset about the trees. They were tiny, and cute, and decorated, and she'd corralled some out of the way of the door so they wouldn't be stepped on, and put others on shelves and displays so they could sit and look pretty and make the shop all holiday. Besides, they matched well with the gold andpink red holiday garlands and little ornaments she'd put up.
No, it was a small orange cat that she was glaring at, arms folded as she frowned down at him.
"Herculeeees! How could you? They're just tiny trees! Why would you try to eat one?"
Hercules, who was calmly licking his paws, looked up at her as if to say, Excuse me but I am a cat before sauntering off toward the back of the store.
'Dite rolled her eyes and went back to cooing at the tiny trees.
Decadent Delights is open.

Yeah, this was gonna end well.
"We're no strangers to love... You know the rules and so do I!"

"Rick-rolled in my own store. What is this island coming to?"
no subject
So he just was forced to continue his singing. "A full commitment's what I'm thinking of." Yes, with the goddess of love. "You wouldn't get this from any other guy!"
no subject
"People everywhere. A sense of expectation hangin' in the air." The music rose out of the speakers on the stereo, cutting off a song about Santa Claus.
"Givin' out a spark. Across the room your eyes are glowin' in the dark."
There might have even been hip movement, there.

"I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling. Gotta make you understand..."
no subject
"And here we go again, we know the start, we know the end. Masters of the sce-eene." Out from behind the counter now, hands in the air as she moved towards him. "We've done it all before and now we're back to get some more. You know what I mee-ean.
"Voulez-vooous! Aha!"
no subject
"Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you, never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna tell a lie and hurt you..."
no subject
"Taaaaake it now or leave it! Nowwww is all we ge-et! Nothing promised, no regreeeeets!"
Besides, at least she didn't go around every day in red pajamas.
no subject
"We've known each other for so long." A whole... few months. "Your heart's been aching but you're too shy to say it."

It just didn't show in the icons 'cause they didn't have reeeeeaaally tight jeans in the Very Special Greece! In fact, the dancing was inspiring her and with a quick zap she was suddenly in tight leather. Much more appropriate.
"Ain't no big decision! You know what to do! La question c'est voulez-vous!"
no subject
"Inside we both know what's been going on. We know the game and we're gonna play it!"
no subject
"I know what you think. The girl means business so I'll offer her a drink. Lookin' mighty proud. I see you leave your table, pushin' through the crowd."
Not that there was a crowd, but still . . .
no subject
"And if you ask me how I'm feeling. Don't tell me you're too blind to see..."
no subject
Unless you were Max."I'm really glad you came, you know the rules, you know the game. Master of the scene. We've done it all before and now we're back to get some more. You know what I meeeeean. Voulez-vooooous. Aha!"

But he needed to soldier on with, "Never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you, never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna tell a lie and hurt you!"
no subject
"Take it now or leave it! Now is all we get! Nothing promised, no regrets! Voulez-vous! Aha!"

But fun to dance around, even if they were singing two different songs.
"And here we go again, we know the start, we know the end - Masters of the scee-ene!"
Her song was better, though.
no subject
"I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling... Gotta make you understand..."
AND HIS SONG WAS TOTALLY BETTER.

And her song was better.
"We've done it all before and now we're back to get some more. You know what I mean. Voulez-vooooous, aha! Take it now or leave it!"

"This, dear Detective, is for you." And she handed it over.
When Dani opened it, it would say that she was cordially invited to a Holiday Party on Sunday, December 13th, and that she was encouraged to bring an ornament, something that would remind her of the holiday she'd normally celebrate at home, to hang on the tree at the party.

She might have appeared to be lecturing. Not that she wasn't.

It took her another moment to pull away, and she smiled as she did it.
"So. What have you been up to, De-tec-tive?"
