Fandom Post Office, Monday

Aphrodite was going to be late opening the store, but this was very important. The invitations for the Holiday Party were going out today. Of course, since everyone on the Island was getting one, the box was fairly large and very full, which did not make her the most favorite person of the Fandom Island Postal Workers at the moment.

"You want all of them delivered . . . tomorrow?"

"Yes, of course." She smiled. "Don't worry. I made absolutely certain they were all properly addressed." Don't ask how; she's a goddess, remember?

"All of them? Tomorrow?"

"Yes. All of them. Tomorrow." She was getting a little irritated. "It's not like they don't all have the same zip code."

The guy sighed, shaking his mostly bald head. "Fine. But there'll be an extra charge for that." He began running each through the stamping machine and muttering.

Aphrodite rolled her eyes and huffed. "Of course I didn't forget you, Thaddeus."

Thaddeus looked up at her startled. Then his lips quirked into an almost smile and he started moving a little faster.

Still, this was going to take a while, and Aphrodite took out an extra invitation to check it over once more.

On the front it said, "You Are Cordially Invited . . ."

And the inside said, "Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, Would like to extend an invitation to all of Fandom Island to celebrate the Holiday season! Whatever Holiday you normally enjoy, share it with us! On December 13th, 2009 at The Arms Hotel. Doors will open at 6 p.m., dinner will be served at 7. Dancing and merriment in the ballroom to follow. Come and meet the friends and family of Fandom Island! I look forward to seeing you on the day."

And there was a P.S. "P.S. You are encouraged to bring a decoration or ornament for hanging on the tree;
it should be something that reminds you of home, or the mid-winter holiday you would normally celebrate.
Come share your holiday with Fandom!"

She sighed happily. A party, her party, and Bliss was going to be there . . .what more could the goddess of love want?

(Establishy, but open! Feel free to bump into 'Dite if you wish. People should be getting their invitations on Tuesday, except for those few that 'Dite already hand delivered. Invitation image courtesy of the ever wonderful [livejournal.com profile] thatsamilkshake.)
