Pixie Dust, Thursday

Elena was just girly enough to be happy about the shipment of shoes that came in. Look, there were Prada slingbacks and Miu Miu sandals. This was a good day.

(Open! OCD-free!)

"How many pairs of shoes do you own?" she asked, leaning in the doorway with a hot chocolate. "Just asking! And hi!"
intraspective: (listen to meeee)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Absolutely," Ino replied, shutting the door behind her and walking over. "Though I warn you, my knowledge of shoes is pretty much limited to 'oh, shiny and expensive'."

Well, it was true.
intraspective: (leaning forward)

"Sometimes it's worth it," Ino agreed, grinning. "Either 'cause they're special or 'cause they're so perfect you've absolutely got to have them and nothing else will do."

A beat.

"Or if you're spending someone else's money--why go for knock-offs when you can get the real thing and not pay for it yourself?"
intraspective: (trying not to laugh)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
"True enough!" she laughed. "But I'm a ways away from having money to spend on shoes as expensive as that. The knock-offs I can do, but..."

Ah well. The joys of being low on the pay scale.

"Though if a pair were really special you can always try bartering, or setting a payment plan."
intraspective: (totally innocent)

"It is generally a bad idea to steal from a store you frequent," she noted. "Though feasible, yes."

Ethics were for boring people! At least, in Ino's opinion. They also seemed like an awful lot of effort to her.

"Depends on the shoe," Ino mused idly. "And on the sales person I were talkin' to, but I'd try to find something that might appeal to their interests, mm? Some are easier to pin down than others after all."
intraspective: (the world is around me)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Ino made a face at that. "No way! Not 'less I'd had an interest in 'em before I wanted the shoes. Then it'd be, like, a bonus."

She sipped her hot chocolate. "I do like the staking out a shop on the mainland idea, though..."

It could be fun, yes.

"Details, details," Ino said, flicking her fingers. "Speculation is totally different from the real situation. Maybe it'd be a boooyfriend and they're all 'sure, you can have the shoes, if...' and then it'd be a game."

If Elena thought she was a wee bit dim, for all that she was one of Reno's rookies, then Ino was all for it, really. Ino had Plans here.

"Spices things up," she hummed. "Keeps things from getting boring."

Boring was to be avoided at all costs.

"Could be a real challenge too, depending on the store--some of 'em are more glass than anything else, have you noticed?"
intraspective: (lady with an attitude)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
She snickered at that.

"Maaaybe so, maybe no? Depends on the other reasons you've got a boy 'round."

Ino gave that a shrug.

"Not that it's worth thinking 'bout for me right now. No boys in my life!"
intraspective: (charming)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
"'Cause the one that ain't anything is the most interesting one?"

Ino shrugged slightly. "Feelings are dumb."
intraspective: (talking w/ friend)

"Did you get that one?" she asked, tilting her head back. "And shoes are awesome not-confusing 'less you see the completely wrong pair with an outfit that just doesn't work with it at all. Then you just have to wonder if they even thought 'bout it."
intraspective: (badass glasses girl)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Ino did not mean to be confusing, no. At least in that case.

"Hm? Oh! The whole 'it's complicated' bit!" She laughed. "And more shoes? Or a few pairs of shoes that match more outfits? Some shoes are good for only one outfit and that's fine, but if you've got a shoe for every outfit in your closet then I want to know why're they're getting the closet space from."
intraspective: (smile politely)

"I'm too possessive," she laughed lightly. "I like my stuff to be mine, you know? Could never do it that way."

She leaned against the counter. "Got a question for you, if you don't mind?"

Technically, that was a question too. Ino ignored that.
intraspective: (ah ha I have an idea!)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Nothing too horrifying," she teased, because this question really wasn't. "Just, I was talking to Reno, and he mentioned it was getting colder in Edge but didn't sound so sure 'bout how cold it was going to get?"

"Sooo, I'd kinda like to know? 'Cause power's still being all rationed and did you know it's almost impossible to find a good battery powered space heater 'round here?"

"For, um, a gift. So the beans don't die." Yes. The beans. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that she wasn't pleased at the idea of Reno being cold all winter. Really.

...okay, she did. But. "And stuff." That was just lame, Ino.
intraspective: (wistful in big and small)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
"What's the the general range of temperature in the winter in Edge?" she asked precisely, without babble this time. "That's what I want to know."

A considering pause.

"Please?"
intraspective: (are you REALLY sure?)

[personal profile] intraspective 2009-12-11 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
It was not earth-shattering information here, no.

Nonetheless, Ino grinned. "Weather reports are never totally right anyway. This should totally be good enough to work with."

And it was Information. Ino liked information.

"What's your favourite shoe here, so far? Today?"

[I am crashing for the night! SP is shiiiny?]
