The heat was on high at the gym today to melt the tiny snow creatures in the doorway before they could wander the facility, melting all over the machines and making a bigger mess to be dealt with.

Dimitri was sweating over at the front desk, trying to talk his way out of ever sparring with Jessi, whose schedule he swore he'd changed.

"You are aware tae bo is not meant for combat," he tried again, turning to look over papers that didn't require his attention in a forced attempt to appear too busy for this discussion while she continued leaning over the counter and gabbing at him in an unfortunately girly manner.

Atlas Gym was open, and far too warm.

Save him from Jessi.

Rose so wasn't acknowledging Jessi when she walked into the gym after her exam. Wasn't acknowledging her. Nope. Not even her hanging over Dimitri.
"Hey, ready for training?" Rose asked, still totally working on ignoring Jessi. And then the coat came off. "Holy crap, it's hot in here."

Bless Rose and her timing. Dimitri ditched the desk (and Jessi's rambling) without a word to join her. "I've been ready. Watch the floors, there's been some melting happening."

Yeah, that was a slight smirk sent in Jessi's direction as Dimitri came over. She couldn't help it. Really.

"Of snow or people trying to work out?" Rose asked, making a face.

"Snow," he answered, tugging up his shirt sleeves. "There seemed to be an assault of miniature snow creatures earlier."

Really, he should just take the shirt off entirely. What was the point of it now?

"And you didn't think you could take 'em on your own?"

Dimitri sent a look her way. "Perhaps I should have tasked a staffer to stomp them as they blew through the doors." A great job for Rose!

"See, I'd think you'd want to defend your domain on your own," she snarked innocently.

Yes, like there was a halo. Really.

"I am always willing to accept assistance," Dimitri said. "Especially when it's Fandom-related." Oh how the weird did like to attack.

"You're totally going to tell me that our training today is killing crazy snow people, aren't you," Rose said, frowning a bit.

"Add tiny and yes, that will be your training today," Dimitri said, actually smiling and feeling far better than when Jessi had been bothering him before.

The frown got bigger. "Seriously? What's that supposed to teach?"

"You not to be a smartass," he said, even if he kind of liked it. "Come on, we'll jog the indoor track."

"Yeah, like that's going to happen," she said, making a face. She headed toward the track, pulling the long sleeve shirt off and leaving just a tank top. "I'm pretending this is freaking Hawaii."

While Dimitri wasn't exactly cool, he was doing fairly well ignoring the heat despite his thermal. Ignoring Rose was far more difficult. "Are you pretending there's a beach?"

"Nah, I can't imagine away the gym smell," Rose smirked over at him. "But if you wanted to take me to a beach, I'd go."

She was hilarious. "You act as though I know so many beaches that aren't part of this island."

"No beaches in Siberia, huh," she teased.

"~~According to Wiki,~~ Russia overall is not known for beaches," he explained. "It would be a long trip to the sea."

"Montana's not big on 'em either," Rose pointed out. "Guess we'll have to take advantage of this one."

"Maybe one day without the snow," Dimitri reasoned, not actually having a problem with them going to the beach. It would be like a field trip, right?

"Well, yeah," she agreed. "We're not all crazy Russian bears."

"Yes, you can enjoy the cold without diving into the ocean to experience it." That sounded beyond stupid to Dimitri, even if he was sweating to the oldies today.

"...good to know," Rose said, eyeing him a little. The heat had gone to his brain.

Jaina still had some time before she had to be anywhere, so she decided to hit up the gym for a while. Just because she didn't technically have a job at the moment didn't mean she should neglect her training for when she did have a job.

And um.

"I thought you had Thursdays," Jaina said, which was sort of like hello.

Jaina was better than Jessi, if only because she seemed sane and far less likely to want to discuss the uh, things that had taken place between them.

"Yes, and sometimes Fridays," Dimitri replied. "Hoping to catch Jessi or Brandi?"

Oh, there was definitely no discussion that needed to be had here. See Jaina. See Jaina repress. Repress, Jaina, repress.

"No," she said easily. "I'm just going to remember the Friday thing now."

Yeah, no matter what the reason, she'd still seen him naked.

"And make certain to stay on campus?" Dimitri verified with a hint of amusement.

Oh, like that would happen. Even if she felt slightly awkward now, she wasn't one to shy from that. "And why would I do that?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

"If I was under the wrong impression, I apologize," Dimitri said. "However, it sounded like you were displeased to find me here on a Friday and taking note of my schedule to avoid that in the future."

"There's no reason that I can see to do that. So I'm just taking note of your schedule because it's something new that I learned today." Uh huh.

Sure thing. "Then I'm glad you stopped in to learn something new today."

"I stopped in to use the gym, the time I've spent learning was just an added bonus, just to get that straight," Jaina said dryly.

"Working on anything specific while you're here?" Dimitri asked, making conversation like a real person for once.

"Strength building's my focus right now," she said. "Getting overpowered's not fun, I'm working on preventing that when possible." Onimi had been somewhere around Dimitri's size, too, it was just that factor that really got her.

"I have had some experience there," he nodded. "It never feels good to be tossed aside after so much hard work." Not that anyone could do that to Dimitri these days, but back in school, he'd had his fair share.

Jaina raised her eyebrows, looking him over again. And putting the naked thing out of her mind, because that would change the mental image a lot. "And who would toss you around? You were probably born a meter long."

"I had very capable teachers and trainers," he replied, not wondering conversely if she was born the size of a peanut. "Size isn't everything."

That was completely unintentionally dirty.

"Tell me that when you get dropped on by a guy your size," she said dryly.

The temperature is high, so mod your workout accordingly.
