Everything But the Monkey, Wednesday afternoon

Castiel paused in the doorway of the pet store and looked around.

He'd had no idea that humans kept such a variety of animals as companions.

How on Earth would they find everything that Morgan and Dean had suggested he acquire for the Cat?

[ooc: Cass is here with Morgan, but open store is open, in case anyone is hanging about]

He had to chuckle. The guy knew secrets that most mortals would tremble to even glance at and he was amazed at the variety in a pet store. Go figure.

"Think the carriers are over this way," he said as he started walking to the aisle on the left.

Derek glanced back to see what Castiel was referring to... and couldn't help another laugh.

"Guess that's why he's God and we're us," he said as he walked along. Eventually, he came to a section with a few different carriers. Most of them were hard plastic with metal grating. One was a 'popup', which Morgan figured was mostly for dogs.

"This is what we came for," he told Castiel.

He shook his head for a moment before finally nodding.

"Kind of. They don't have metal on the bottom, so they won't hurt the animal's feet. But they're to hold the cat until we get there. That bother you?"

He was already coming up with an idea if it did.

He leaned over and pulled up another option (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000OBFHXU/ref=asc_df_B000OBFHXU994674?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=googlecom09c9-20&linkCode=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B000OBFHXU).

"What about this?"

[identity profile] bau-beefcake.livejournal.com 2009-12-30 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
He nodded.

"It'll get the cat to the office. I've seen a few people with them in the office waiting room."

He turned to take a look at what Castiel was talking about.

"Oh. Yeah, they like them. Cats like a nice comfy place to curl up just like anyone else. Clooney's got a bed. It's a lot bigger than that one."

[identity profile] bau-beefcake.livejournal.com 2009-12-30 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Depends on the owner, but they get taken care of pretty well, yeah. Kind of like having a kid in some ways."

[identity profile] bau-beefcake.livejournal.com 2009-12-30 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure. Pets are..." and he thought of Clooney.

"It's good to have someone to come back to, even if you're just out for a few hours."

"Sorta," he admitted as he leaned against a clear wall, "I mean, there was a mess of puppies from a mix up with one of the police dogs and I came to see" because no matter how manly he was, this was puppies.

For notes on Morgan re: small young things, watch his reaction to JJ's baby boy.

"And the little guy padded right over to me and looked up. Figured that was fate and when they needed to find a home for him, I took him in."

"...your cat's name is Angelbane?"

[identity profile] bau-beefcake.livejournal.com 2009-12-30 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Bane's, uh... it's not a bad name," he had to agree. Mostly because it helped him not to laugh.

"Maybe you need new shoes," he offered in reply.

[identity profile] bau-beefcake.livejournal.com 2009-12-30 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"I meant more like 'he doesn't like them'. Or he likes them enough he wants to eat them."

[identity profile] bau-beefcake.livejournal.com 2009-12-30 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Couldn't tell you. Cats are weird. That's why I have a dog."

Not that Clooney hadn't had to be trained out of not eating his shoes. But you couldn't really train cats half so well. They had a mind of their own.

"These things happen," he said with a shrug, because there wasn't much he could say to that.

"Any preference on color for this thing?"

He managed to find a navy blue harnass behind a couple of red ones and held it out to the angel before--

"I got this," he said before heading to the counter.
