Luke's Diner, Wednesday [1/20]

Another day, another burger, and another chance to laugh at the staff's freak-out when Snarf managed to get through the barricaded kitchen door. Lion-o was really starting to enjoy Wednesdays.

Once he's done eating.

"Hi, Lion-o!" Momoko was taking a few minutes off her stake out to grab something to eat, and finally coming to see her friend at his new job. "How do the burgers taste?"

"They taste pretty good. I'm not sure what this honey-chipotle stuff is, but the burger special has a little bit of a kick to it," said Lion-o. "Wanna give it a try?"

"Sure! It does sound good! Can I have a milkshake with it, please? Strawberry!" Momoko looked around the diner. "So, how do you like working in a place that doesn't have walking napkins?"

"One burger and a strawberry milkshake coming up! Did you want fries with that? The burger really tastes best with fries," suggested Lion-o. "Honestly, I think I like the Fina staff a little better. They're a lot friendlier than these guys."

It was tough to get to know the diner staff when they were so terrified of Lion-o.

"If you think I should, then sure! I think I can manage to eat fries, too." Yeah, she totally could. "Thank you! And what do you mean not friendly? Why wouldn't they be friendly?" She didn't see that many staff around, actually, come to think of it.

"They lock themselves in the kitchen and don't come out. Sometimes, they even try to block the door so I can't get into the kitchen," said Lion-o, lowering his voice. "You know, if I didn't know better, I'd say they didn't like me."

Momoko turned and stared at said kitchen door. "Why on earth would they be afraid of you? That's silly. Are they maybe playing a joke on you today or something? Maybe it's a holiday today!"

"It's not just today. They pretty much do this every day, or at least every day that I work," said Lion-o.

"Well, that's rude!" Momoko huffed, upset that her friend was being treated poorly. "Do you want me to talk to them? I will totally set them straight! Have you told Mr Luke that they're being mean to you?"

"You don't have to do that!" said Lion-o, embarrassed by the idea of Momoko fighting his battles for him. "And I don't know if there is a Mr. Luke. I haven't met one yet."

At his protests, Momoko hesitated. Barely. She really hated people being rude to her friends.

"You should totally tell your boss! And if he doesn't do anything I will totally have a talk with them." She glared at the kitchen door as it creaked open a bit, and the person on the other side should really be glad she didn't have those laser eyes.

Lion-o gave it some thought. "Guess I should talk to that Lacey woman from the radio. She seems to be the person responsible for this place," he said.

Momoko blinked at Lion-o. "Lacey? I thought it was called 'Luke's Diner'? That's weird. Oh, but I guess maybe she's related to him?" Huh. "Anyway, don't worry. You're totally not scary or mean or smelly or anything. You're a good person and a great friend." She reached out to pat his arm. "Especially if I get whipped topping on my shake."

"For that, I think you should definitely get some whipped topping on your shake, and I'll try to find for you how Lacey knows Mr. Luke. Hey, maybe I'll even figure out who Mr. Luke is!" said Lion-o.

"Don't worry about finding out about Mr Luke, Lion-o!" Momoko laughed. "As long as you and Ms Lacey get everything settled with the staff, and you're happy, that's what I care about."

In case large walking talking lions make you nervous.
