Sushi Station, Thursday Evening

So, a gremlin attack kinda put a damper on having date number two. Not to mention how they'd eaten the sushi she'd got to surprise Bruce with. Which, um, how rude?

Thank goodness they were all gone now and couldn't interrupt her date.

Or else she'd have to, like, eat a sun or something in frustration. And that went badly with mackerel.

So, there she waited for him to arrive, not at all wondering if maybe... just maybe she could get a glass of wine and be all adult. But that was silly. She was far too responsible to drink. Oh, kid's shows.

[[Jean is there for the goddamn Batman her date, but the place is open for your sushi needs]]

It's entirely possible Bobby had some sort of Jean-on-a-date radar. Or... okay, maybe he was just craving something fishy for some weird reason and thus the fact that he was entering the sushi restaurant at precisely this moment was a complete and total coincidence.

"Hey, Jean," Bobby greeted, plonking himself down in the chair across from her without so much as an invitation.

"Looking for the treasure of the Sierra Madre," Bobby retorted, rolling his eyes. "I'm hungry and kinda craving fish. So... sushi," he shrugged. "What are you doing he- are you waiting for someone?" he demanded, like it was totally his business.

Bobby opened his mouth to reply to that-

only, instead of a sarcastic comment, let out a baby-penguiny squawk. Because where a teenage boy had been sitting only moments ago, there was now a tiny, fuzzy penguin. Who could barely see over the edge of the table.

Bruce walked over to Jean and took a seat at her table. "Am I late?" he asked.

"Are the specials anything good?" Bruce asked.

"Did you hear something?" Bruce asked, going to glance under the table.

"Bobby?" Bruce asked as he spotted a penguin.

"Is that a completely insane lie or is it just another Fandom thing?" Bruce asked.

"What kind of bird?" Bruce had to ask.

"Fandom is filled with helpful people," Bruce said. "Does that mean you'll be watching after Bobby while he's... like this?"

"Then should he be in a chair or something?" Bruce asked.

"People aren't going to look for a penguin. They could trip over him," Bruce pointed out.

"We can get some extra fish for him," Bruce said. "It's on me."
