Vida was above all things a lady, but it was very hard to keep her temper on the phone this morning. "Are you trying to tell me all the pink and dark red gerbera daisies are bad?" she said, fuming. Thank goodness the school was only ordering carnations and roses, but people looking for bouquets would need their gerbs! "You can't do this to me. You have to replace them -- now. And I will not take 'that's impossible' for an answer, do you hear me?"

She hung up and fanned herself with her hand, trying to calm down, then wrote a note for her floral minions. Pumpkins, some dark and sinister force has abducted most of the gerbera daisies. One of the other flowers must be acting out of jealousy. Keep an eye out for likely culprits.
