Fast Eddie's | Friday Night

Just two weeks ago, Dimitri had been too busy working around the clock to pause for an hour and enjoy himself with friends when presented with the opportunity.

Now, he was creating the time. Yes, it helped that most of the island was on vacation and Dimitri was spending as little time at the gym as possible after an unfortunate, yet thankfully one-sided, discussion of Real Women with Jessi.

After gathering the American pool equipment on an unoccupied table, he set things up and started taking a few practice shots for the sake of his rusty skills.

After a few minutes of concentrated play, he realized there was hockey showing on the televisions hanging around the establishment, leading to a frowning Dimitri. Canadians.

[Fast Eddie's is open to ALL!]

Dimitri would be happy to know that Adrian had left the kitten at home, where it was probably using more of his stuff as scratching posts.

"I honestly thought you might have been joking about this," he said.

"Somehow I thought it would cramp my style here. Being in a pool hall kind of does that already," he admitted.

Tully decided to take Dimitri up on the open invite over the radio. He'd never actually met Dimitri, but he decided he wouldn't let that get in the way of having a good time.

Though it did make it harder to locate the host, when he came in.

Woah, holy crap. Tall guy. "Hey, you the guy on the radio last night?"

[identity profile] whos-got-spirit.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Adrian was still over here smoking and resolutely not playing, but that didn't mean he couldn't give a nod of recognition to the new guy.

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"How ya doin'?" Tully asked, giving Adrian a friendly not in return.

[identity profile] sweet-balls.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Shelley walked in, tossed her hands in the air and yelled, "Rack me!"

[identity profile] sweet-balls.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
"I thought you said we were going to play pool?" She looked around, confused.

With an opening like that, how could Adrian not say anything? "That is an invitation if I've ever heard one."

"Very nice," Fred said. "Thought you'd be a natural, boss."

He actually had a nice shirt on. Who knew they made blue dress shirts that big?

Adrian was pretty sure he would have recognized this guy, but then again, he was usually halfway to drunk. Still, he seemed to know Dimitri, so he got a sort of nod between drags of his cigarette.

Kyle had come for another round of Space Invaders at the arcade (how he spent his free time was his own deal), but when he saw the group playing pool - which, amazingly, did exist in the galaxy far, far away - he decided to join them. It had been a while since he played this exact same game that somehow existed with the same name across space and time. Seriously, guys, what the hell.

"Are you playing for anything interesting?" Kyle asked.

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"On this island, that could wind up being anything."

[identity profile] whos-got-spirit.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
"My entertainment," Adrian answered, going to light another cigarette. Sorry for the secondhand smoke, everyone.

[identity profile] justagalegirl.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Sure Alysha had heard the odd couple on radio and couldn't help wandering down to check out this pool tournament. Also she was really freaking bored in this almost empty town, and even if the Canadians were playing, she could go do something else too.

"Pool and hockey?" she asked as she wandered in. "Best day ever."

[identity profile] cowboy-sailor.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Tully was more into the Summer Games himself. "Actual hockey or just the scandal the press keeps harping on?"

[identity profile] whos-got-spirit.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't forget the company of a room of fantastic people," Adrian pointed out. He meant himself, of course.
