Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday
The store smelled like peppermint today. Because of the time difference between Kaeleer and Fandom, the portal that was scheduled to bring Karla back to school before class didn't arrive in Kaeleer until well after lunch. Which meant that there had been plenty of time for Lucivar to haul Karla out for another practice with Eyrien sticks before she left.
She would have bitched more if Jaenelle hadn't been out there, too. And if Uncle Saetan hadn't been waiting for them in the breakfast room, a jar of muscle salve for each of them in his hands.
So today Karla wasn't doing much of anything at work. She was too busy counting her bruises and rubbing more salve into aching muscles to actually be helpful. Of course, today was the day she'd agreed to help Leda out--she just hoped she'd be in any fit state to actually be useful after the long walk from town back to the dorms.
Dite's is open; please just don't be surprised if Karla is more interested in figuring out who she can convince to give her a massage than actually helping out any customers.

Talk to Karla
Re: Talk to Karla
But that put him squarely on Karla's day instead.
He had skills.
"Hello?"
Re: Talk to Karla
And then the reason why he was coming to 'Dite's dawned on Karla. Gulp. "Can I help you?" she asked in a tiny voice?
Re: Talk to Karla
THAT MADE NO SENSE UNLESS HE WANTED AN ORGY.
Re: Talk to Karla
There were, however, several interesting noises escaping from her throat. "...bwah?"
Re: Talk to Karla
"...Um..."

Maybe he was looking for...books! Yes! Like romance novels or something. Something she wouldn't have to picture Arthur being involved in. At all.

"I--are you alright?"

Jaenelle was just good enough to get past Karla's guard, but not good enough to pull her blows efficiently. Karla's chest and upper arms were almost polka-dotted.
She gave him a speculative glance. Maybe she could ask him for a back rub later. "It was an interesting weekend. How was yours?"

She called in a long, hardwood staff about three-quarters of her own height and about an inch in diameter and held it out for George to examine. "These are usually bladed when warriors use them; like mini-scythes on either end. Lucivar says we can learn to use bladed sticks when we stop moving around like we're mincing on a dance floor and I stop being so damn skinny." She sounded disgruntled at that.
Re: Talk to Karla
He took the staff, spinning it absently to get a feel for the weight. "He's right," George pointed out. "Ye shouldn' be usin' somethin' wit' blades before yer ready." He gave her an apologetic grin. "An' if y'were ready, ye wouldn' be hurtin' like that."
