'Dite's Decadent Delights, Friday evening
The fog was disconcerting. 'Dite hadn't gone out in it, at all, but was still a little spooked by it. Especially since when she opened up that day she'd seen a strange beast passing by, hooves clip clopping on the sidewalk while the monkey-like things on its back twisted and writhed.
"That? Is not from my world." She glanced down at Herc. "No. You cannot go play."
Nor did she let him play with the strange lizard like creature that came up and poked at the door with it's long snout.
"That could eat you in one small mouthful, cat."
Hercules just stared, tail still twitching as he walked next to the windows.
Aphrodite sighed. It was obvious that Jack hadn't been in; there were no beer cans in the trash. She hoped the man was okay. For a moment she considered calling some people just to make sure her friends were fine, but decided that Karla, Dinah, Raven and Fiona were all either smart enough to stay out of the situation, or could take care of themselves. She'd yell at them later if they weren't.
She herself had spent most of the week moping after her exchange with Max and the revelation that she really was just a good time for him.
"At least the fog and the creatures made me stop thinking about Ma-- " She sighed. "Dammit."
Decadent Delights is open.
(OOC: Expecting one later, but open for anyone, especially if they're having evil thoughts. *eyes wicked blonde witch* Dite wouldn't be affected by the fog, but you're welcome to come in out of it and wonder why there's a monster tending the counter.)

She stopped for a minute, looking from side to side, thinking. "No, you know what? It's Fandom. I'd believe the psychadelic fog stuff easier than the monsters. The island is up to tricks again, huh?"

'Dite put her chin on her hand. "And what's up with you? Haven't seen you in a while. Wasn't there some deal we made about checking in with each other more often? I seem to recall something like that at our dinner, when you made me promise to call if I was leaving the island for a while."

Then she sighed. "Yeah, well. We're still seeing each other. Kind of. Sort of. Just -- not exclusively. We kind of agreed on that."

Dinah considered 'Dite's comments on Max, then held out her arms. "Hug?"

Unless it was from a monkey-pony-monster.So she stepped around the counter and hugged Dinah for several long moments, feeling grateful to have found such friends. If there was a tear in her eyes when she pulled back, she wasn't going to admit it."So, things are . . . good with you and Jaime? Has there been . . . kissage yet?" And she winked, getting back a little of her teasing nature.

"Dinah, that's excellent! I'm really happy for you, Sweet Pea!" Surprisingly, she stopped there.
"And things are good at home? Sisters are doing well?"

"Well.... It's inherited, my mom had it. Uh. I got into a tricky situation, and ended up screaming to warn Roy, and it just sort of-- burst out of me?"
We can skate over the situation, right? Yes? Sure?
no subject
Um, watch out for the speed bumps on the skating rink.
"What tricky situation? And who's Roy?"
no subject
What? They were semi-family-through-dimensions! And she only got him cool T-shirts for his birthday.
"And apparently in some other dimension, an older me dated his foster dad."
... she'll get to that other thing in a minute. "And he's eighteen! He just had a birthday last week! So everything is totally legal for him."
no subject
"An older . . . you dated his . . . dad?" Let her slide on the foster stuff, okay?
"Right. Fandom strikes again, hm?" She shook her head. "I'm guessing that's why you said I should give him a discount. I could always just give you one, and you could buy it for him." 'Dite winked.
"Now, about that situation?" Dinah's avoidance might have worked, if 'Dite hadn't been trying to avoid her own problems right now.
no subject
"...okay, so, I got kidnapped for only an hour, a little freaked out, Roy and other people came an saved me, and then there was a Canary Cry."
She should print it out on cards. "The End."
no subject
"You got kidnapped!?!?"
Give her a moment, she'd get past that to the rest of it . . .
"Explain. Now. Please."
. . . or maybe not.

She wasn't getting away quite that easily. 'Dite stepped up next to her and hugged her, not saying anything for a moment. Then she pulled back, looking at her friend seriously.
"I'm glad you're okay, that's the most important thing. Just . . . make some time and tell me the story soon, okay?" She tilted her head. "Maybe another dinner with Karla? You choose the country, I'll cater the food."
no subject
Look, she'd like to be able to talk Tex-Mex with some authority with Jaime. Don't judge her.
She hugged 'Dite back and said, "I promise. Full disclosure. Over food."

A quick kiss to Dinah's forehead, and 'Dite backed off, waving a hand at her. "Now, go on. Before I change my mind. And Dinah? Be careful."
