Price had decided against running another FIRE meeting just one week after the first.

If by 'decided' you meant 'couldn't think of what else to do'. He'd come up with an idea by next week, he was certain. At least, a better idea than target practice. Something told him that wouldn't be quite the hit activity like bowling.

He was hard at work at Wellspring today, happy to help anyone who came in.
