"You don't get it, Alex," Rose said. "As soon as I pass my trials, she is going to be my life. That's how it works. I'll be with her twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We both know this. It's part of being a guardian. She's more important, and she comes first." She shrugged. "It sounds stupid here, but it's true."
