Graduation Weekend Brunch | Early Afternoon | Sunday | May 2

With the ceremony completed and the graduated officially done with their high school careers, a brunch had been planned to celebrate the occasion and allow graduates, their guests, and the other inhabitants of the island to enjoy some good food and good conversation outside. The weather was warm and the sky was clear.

Fraser had been busy helping set up since the early morning hours. Apparently, Dean Stinson had gone a little overboard with some of the food, particularly the cake. The huge sheet cake arrived via truck and, where Fraser thought he'd be able to carry it, ended up having to use a forklift to get it to the park. From there, it took several people to lift the cake onto a table of its own. It was that big. Fraser hoped everyone enjoyed and hoped everyone was prepared to take a lot of cake home.

There were also several other tables of food and drinks, ready to be enjoyed. There were tables and chairs situated around the park, covered by tents to keep it from becoming too warm.

And there was cake. Please don't forget the cake.

Oh, this would be where Angela could be found. She always had talking needs. Lots of them.

She'd already had some food, and picked up a drink and was ready to find people she knew (or didn't, actually) to chat with.

In retrospect, it had turned out to not have been such a great idea to skip the graduation ceremony in favor of a dinner date.

So, having learned from her mistakes, Kate was here now. With food that was exactly what she'd picked out, and which was most definitely not ending up in anyone's lap.

And which was a good distraction from all those less than pleasant feelings about people leaving.

Arthur didn't need to find a graduate - he was one. And he didn't have any parents here.

What he did have was a decent slice of cake and a seat. Which was all he asked for, really.

Mitchell would've gone for the edges, but there was an awful lot of sunlight out there he didn't feel like dealing with. Instead, he took a seat somewhere near the middle of a tent, and slipped his sunglasses up to rest on top of his head.

Might as well try some cake.

Hoshi didn't want to pass up one last opportunity to socialize, especially since she knew there were people leaving soon. She had a slice of cake, but was too busy chatting to eat.

Zayne realized this might be his last chance to see a lot of his classmates, so he made sure he made an appearance at the brunch. Also, it meant getting some food.

Hannibal was at the food tables, of course. Where else would he be? His parents, curious about few things, were wandering around somewhere which meant he could eat as much as he want without getting looks.

Or getting his food stolen by his dad.

That and there were people. He liked people! Maybe he wasn't always very articulate in front of all of them, but he did like them.

Griff was in awe of the cake these people had provided, but he wasn't passing up the opportunity for a free sugar high.

Sam wasn't sure if he'd ever seen so much cake in one place. Really, it would be a shame to let it go to waste, so he had a huge piece on his plate. He'd had less healthy breakfasts, surely.

George loved these weekends when the school decided to feed everyone massive amounts of food. He was currently piling a plate full and wondering if he should get a second one just for cake.

Ellie was feeling a little mopey today since her best friend had to leave, but that didn't stop her from attending the brunch. She filled a plate with food and looked around for anyone she knew.

Jonas hadn't gone to the graduation ceremony but attending the brunch just seemed like something he couldn't pass up. He had heaped a healthy portion of food on his plate and took a seat at one of the tables to enjoy the day.

Bod felt a little more comfortable wandering around the edges of the park, bottle of water in hand. He didn't have family and didn't have that many friends in the graduating class but being there seemed like a good way to spend the day. So, he was there but on the outskirts.
