Graduation Weekend Brunch | Early Afternoon | Sunday | May 2
With the ceremony completed and the graduated officially done with their high school careers, a brunch had been planned to celebrate the occasion and allow graduates, their guests, and the other inhabitants of the island to enjoy some good food and good conversation outside. The weather was warm and the sky was clear.
Fraser had been busy helping set up since the early morning hours. Apparently, Dean Stinson had gone a little overboard with some of the food, particularly the cake. The huge sheet cake arrived via truck and, where Fraser thought he'd be able to carry it, ended up having to use a forklift to get it to the park. From there, it took several people to lift the cake onto a table of its own. It was that big. Fraser hoped everyone enjoyed and hoped everyone was prepared to take a lot of cake home.
There were also several other tables of food and drinks, ready to be enjoyed. There were tables and chairs situated around the park, covered by tents to keep it from becoming too warm.
And there was cake. Please don't forget the cake.

Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"I'm going off on a backpacking trip with Francine and a few other people for the first few weeks of the summer," she offered in a surprisingly gentle voice. "But I'll be back after that. You'll have more chances to pester me, don't worry."
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"Why would I worry?" she asked, flicking a bit of grass. "Not like I've got to--say good-bye or nothing. See you later is lots easier."
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"Figure of speech," she said by way of shrugging it off. "I hate goodbyes myself. Try to avoid 'em as much as possible. 'sides, I think this place got its claws in me a little too deep to ever get away."
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"Reno's been turned into a girl since he graduated," she informed her. "And he's had things come to life on him and such. I don't think Fandom cares if you're here or not when it really wants to mess with someone."
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
Please. She wouldn't give up what this place had given her for anything, now. Zombies, being a bunny, and other headaches aside, she really did love it.
In a special way.
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"Are you sure you're Katina?" Ino asked, faking dubiousness. "Maybe you're a fake or something."
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"Don't say that," she half-warned, half-laughed. "I'm one of the few that could figure that one out in a snap."
She specialized in possession, after all.
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"I know you could. 's why I'm not worried."
Not that she realized the specialization; she just had a feeling Ino could.
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
She wasn't really going to explain how she could tell though. Easier to just skirt over it.
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"They won't cease, if people don't stop asking that question," Katchoo intoned. "So what if I'm in a good mood? Call it an off day, and don't tell anybody you noticed."
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
A beat.
"And I totally don't mind a good mood. It's better to be in a good mood, right, than not?" It was easier, at least, for her to be in a good mood the more she talked.
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"Eh, if beggars can't be choosers, why the hell not?" Katchoo, still cheerful although she dropped the freakishly overt grin, flicked another handful of grass at her, which only served to create a lame confetti-like effect. "And what did the butterflies ever do to you to get insulted that way, huh?"
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
"It's not an insult, not really," Ino said, wrinkling her nose cheerfully. "They're pretty, they can fly, and some of them are deadly. More than meets the eye."
Re: Edges of the Park [Grad Brunch 2010]
Grass, for the record, was crap for ammunition.
"Never underestimate the pretty ones. Moral of the story."
