With the ceremony completed and the graduated officially done with their high school careers, a brunch had been planned to celebrate the occasion and allow graduates, their guests, and the other inhabitants of the island to enjoy some good food and good conversation outside. The weather was warm and the sky was clear.

Fraser had been busy helping set up since the early morning hours. Apparently, Dean Stinson had gone a little overboard with some of the food, particularly the cake. The huge sheet cake arrived via truck and, where Fraser thought he'd be able to carry it, ended up having to use a forklift to get it to the park. From there, it took several people to lift the cake onto a table of its own. It was that big. Fraser hoped everyone enjoyed and hoped everyone was prepared to take a lot of cake home.

There were also several other tables of food and drinks, ready to be enjoyed. There were tables and chairs situated around the park, covered by tents to keep it from becoming too warm.

And there was cake. Please don't forget the cake.

"Arthur," Hannibal said, wandering closer and offering a hand, "congratulations."

See, that was sincere and everything! He could do that. Occasionally.

"Likewise," Arthur said, and took Hannibal's hand for a hearty shake.

See? They could be amiable.

"I didn't know you had that kind of singing talent in you," he remarked, amused. "Should look into that if the whole prince thing doesn't work out."

"No, I think I'll leave that career path to yourself," Arthur said, dropping his hand. Equally amused. "Considering how rotten you are at it, you're likely to entertain someone."

"Hey, no one would be paying attention to my voice considering how hot I am," Hannibal said, smirking. "I could make a career of that better than you could."

Arthur lifted a single eyebrow.

Really, now. He wasn't even going to dignify a statement that idiotic with a verbal answer.

"Yeah, taking your non answer as agreement," he said, smug. "It's okay, I already know that I'm right. Happens all the time. Good to know that others recognize it."

"Congratulations, Hannibal," Arthur said, taking to his cake like it was far more fascinating, "You are officially the most delusional man on Fandom."

"Everyone's gotta be the best at something," he said, shrugging. "You gonna be gracing the island with your pleasant demeanor this summer?"

"Please," Arthur said, "I hope to be out of here by morning."

"Not wasting any time, are you?" Hannibal asked, raising an eyebrow. "Guess I should wish you well now. Don't go getting yourself killed too quick."

"I think I'd better say that one to you instead, as well," he said ~~with no clue of how on the mark he was~~. "I've been trained for the battles I face." A beat. "But thank you, Hannibal. That's very kind."

"I can do that sometimes," he said and did reach to give Arthur a friendly clap on the shoulder. "But yeah, take care of yourself. And all that. Shut up."

"I'm not saying anything," Arthur said, grinning slightly. "Do keep going on about how you're going to miss me."

"Yeah, shove it up your ass," Hannibal said and made a face. "Don't forget to write, dear."

The corners of Arthur's mouth quirked up.

"Don't get yourself killed. Especially not through that mouth of yours."

"Will do," Hannibal said, giving Arthur's shoulder one last pat before winding his way back into the crowd.
