With the ceremony completed and the graduated officially done with their high school careers, a brunch had been planned to celebrate the occasion and allow graduates, their guests, and the other inhabitants of the island to enjoy some good food and good conversation outside. The weather was warm and the sky was clear.

Fraser had been busy helping set up since the early morning hours. Apparently, Dean Stinson had gone a little overboard with some of the food, particularly the cake. The huge sheet cake arrived via truck and, where Fraser thought he'd be able to carry it, ended up having to use a forklift to get it to the park. From there, it took several people to lift the cake onto a table of its own. It was that big. Fraser hoped everyone enjoyed and hoped everyone was prepared to take a lot of cake home.

There were also several other tables of food and drinks, ready to be enjoyed. There were tables and chairs situated around the park, covered by tents to keep it from becoming too warm.

And there was cake. Please don't forget the cake.

"Why does everyone keep talking about my singing?" Because it was bad, Jaina. "I guess Fandom just had to mess with us one last time or something."

"Because that's the only part I was really paying attention to everyone else during," she admitted with a shrug. Then considered Jaina's other point. "You think that means we're done? Like even for the summer? Cause that'd be awesome."

"No," Jaina said immediately. "Tomorrow it'll probably rain coffee followed by a week-long coffee drought and the week after that we'll all turn into babies. I might be jaded."

"And look at you staying anyway," Rose teased.

"I can leave at any time," Jaina reminded her. It actually made her feel better to remember that. And it was nice to know that when she did go, it'd be on her terms. "Been having fun so far?"

Her smile was a little more fixed for a moment. Yeah, that made a difference, and the reminder that Rose couldn't was unavoidable.

"Dimitri managed to get Lissa here for the weekend," she said, smile returning in full force. "It's crazy awesome."

"Really?" Jaina said, smiling back. "I can't believe I haven't met her yet."

"Too busy with graduation stuff and those guests of yours," she teased. "She's at the hotel now." What with it being daytime and all. "But we'll be around later. You totally should, yeah."

"I should. I thought I'd be around more, honestly," she admitted. "I just want the weekend to last longer. There's just not enough time."

"Not even close," Rose agreed softly. "Too many people to hang out with and talk to and it should be like graduation week. That'd be much better. I don't even care if I have to sing every day for it."

"I'd like a break in the singing," Jaina said slowly. "Because Dad and John would never stop teasing, and then I'd have to kick them out." She'd never do that.

"Sure you would," she teased. "I saw John at Graduation, but your dad came too? That's so awesome of him."

"It was," Jaina said happily. "My mom stayed home so she wouldn't break the universe, but it was nice to have some representation from home."

"That would - " Rose made a face, trying to picture the brain breakage of two of the same people. "Ow, my brain. Seriously."

"I know. To be honest, I'd love to meet one of the other Jainas out there, but I can't even imagine what would happen." But still. She so wanted to.

"Wasn't there, like, a grown-up - more grown up John at Homecoming?" she asked. "Did John meet himself?"

"No, Professor Dex had a more grown up John at Parents Weekend," she corrected. "John was at college at the time, but he did get a voicemail from himself."

"I wanna say something about being glad that hasn't happened, but watch the new kids come in and there be someone I know," Rose said dryly.

"...Sithspit, I forgot staying means I still have to go to those and be traumatized," she realized.

"Well, we could totally skip," she offered with a little smile. "But the trauma'll probably stick around."

"That's the problem. I go so I can see the new issue, see if they're related to me, and start the repression process." She was a Skywalker and a Solo, she was awesome at repression.

"Gotta admit, I'm pretty glad I'm not going to be here long enough to get that cool with everything," Rose said, shaking her head a little.

"The first person I ever met in Fandom was my alternate universe uncle telling me how not to break the timeline with my grandfather who's dead where I'm from," Jaina explained. "Didn't really have a choice."

"Yeah, yeah, I know," she said, shaking her head a little. "It's still funny."
