With the ceremony completed and the graduated officially done with their high school careers, a brunch had been planned to celebrate the occasion and allow graduates, their guests, and the other inhabitants of the island to enjoy some good food and good conversation outside. The weather was warm and the sky was clear.

Fraser had been busy helping set up since the early morning hours. Apparently, Dean Stinson had gone a little overboard with some of the food, particularly the cake. The huge sheet cake arrived via truck and, where Fraser thought he'd be able to carry it, ended up having to use a forklift to get it to the park. From there, it took several people to lift the cake onto a table of its own. It was that big. Fraser hoped everyone enjoyed and hoped everyone was prepared to take a lot of cake home.

There were also several other tables of food and drinks, ready to be enjoyed. There were tables and chairs situated around the park, covered by tents to keep it from becoming too warm.

And there was cake. Please don't forget the cake.

"Oh great. Dan Humphrey's endorsement. That'll sway my decision to your side, Nathaniel," Chuck said flatly.

Dan rolled his eyes. "Are you showing up on time for radio tonight? We're probably going to have a lot to do."

"Probably not," Chuck said, not looking apologetic at all. "It's Sam's birthday, I've got places to be. Would you like me to explain what having a social life is like? I know it's an unfamiliar concept to you."

"Chuck," Nate chastised. "I can do radio with you, Dan. I liked what I heard the last few days. It seems like fun."

Chuck did a double take. "You can't be serious."

"Sure I am. You told me so much about it, and Dan's fun to hang out with." Sort of, once you got past the geekiness. "I can meet your missing link any other time, right?"

Oh someone's been listening to Blair's opinions on Sam.

"Yeah, I guess you can," Chuck said with a slight frown. He pointed at Dan with his fork. "If the squirrels abuse him, I'm going to punch you."

"I'll take care of your boyfriend, Chuck, don't worry," Dan said with a roll of his eyes.
