The Park- Wednesday night

Adrian had a little secret. He actually just liked taking the cat for walks. It was an excuse to get out, and the kitten seemed to enjoy it, if not so much the leash. And maybe he'd come around to liking the kitten a little.

Shut up, he would never admit it out loud.

Today's walk had taken them through the park, and since the kitten was behaving abnormally well today, he decided to chance it and took it off the leash while he found a spot on a bench to have a cigarette. It didn't run off or anything, which was good, and instead busied itself with pouncing on things. What things, Adrian didn't know, but there were a lot of them.

"You're very good at that," Adrian told it conversationally.

The kitten ignored him and pounced on something so hard it fell over.

[And with that last post done, I needed a kitty. No, not that one. Open!]

Protecting Adrian and his cat was never really what Rose had thought of when thought about being a guardian. Sure, it wasn't like she was all that hellbent on fighting every minute anymore, but this seemed a little - silly.

She worked on keeping that thought off her face as she surveyed the area, trying to find a good spot from where she could keep making regular eye contact with Dimitri as well as watch Adrian.

Rose still wanted one of those nifty ear pieces.

"Shit, you're not the only one," she said, making a face. "Gotta to learn how to be proper sometime."

"Which is awesome, but I don't think you get a say in that," she smirked back at him.

"I think I'm standing here watching the cat pounce no matter what words you use," Rose pointed out.

She snickered a little, glancing away. "Adrian Ivashkov and responsible. Two words that'd never go together."

"Yeah, Adrian, I have nothing better to do than gossip about you," she snarked. Also he was making enough gossip of his own back at St Vlad's.

"Cat's not technically in the sphere of protection," Rose replied.

Rose couldn't help laughing as she shook her head at him. "If it isn't, they wouldn't report it so we'll never know."

"I think you need a hobby there, Adrian," she said, looking amused. "Unless cat-watching counts."

"It's a cat. How busy can it keep you?"

"Too bad you already have a cat," she smirked. "That cat would eat the fish."

Taking on the far guard role meant there was a good deal of space between Dimitri and the other two. And the cat.

Really, Dimitri wasn't likely to complain about not having to deal with the cat and its attacks or hissing. Rose could handle it and he could fade into the darkness of night.
