The Park- Wednesday night
Adrian had a little secret. He actually just liked taking the cat for walks. It was an excuse to get out, and the kitten seemed to enjoy it, if not so much the leash. And maybe he'd come around to liking the kitten a little.
Shut up, he would never admit it out loud.
Today's walk had taken them through the park, and since the kitten was behaving abnormally well today, he decided to chance it and took it off the leash while he found a spot on a bench to have a cigarette. It didn't run off or anything, which was good, and instead busied itself with pouncing on things. What things, Adrian didn't know, but there were a lot of them.
"You're very good at that," Adrian told it conversationally.
The kitten ignored him and pounced on something so hard it fell over.
[And with that last post done, I needed a kitty. No, not that one. Open!]

She worked on keeping that thought off her face as she surveyed the area, trying to find a good spot from where she could keep making regular eye contact with Dimitri as well as watch Adrian.
Rose still wanted one of those nifty ear pieces.

He paused, and added, "God, I hope it's the first time."

He was watching the cat so intently he didn't even see it pounce on his shoe.

Really, Dimitri wasn't likely to complain about not having to deal with the cat and its attacks or hissing. Rose could handle it and he could fade into the darkness of night.
