Caritas- Saturday

Jaina could name one time in her history that she'd been this happy to get back to work: right after Ebaq 9 when she'd been trapped on the moon for a week while they waited for extraction. That had taken longer than the nearly four days she'd spent in her room, but working at Caritas was admittedly more fun than strategy and running people through drills, so it balanced out.

So there was a Jaina behind the bar, looking extremely relieved to be here, and hoping people showed tonight. She didn't so much like being that deprived of contact with people these days. Yeah, it surprised her, too.

It wasn't often that Sam drank, but he had a free night and sitting in Caritas with a beer and a book was better than sitting alone in his room with a book. At least, it felt more social to him.

Gabriel could only take so much of gods and such in close quarters so he decided to skip the banquet and check out more of the town.

He stopped at the bar, snorted in amusement at the zombie band, then smiled at the pretty bartender. "What's the sweetest drink you can make?"

After he had got himself a drink, Gabriel was poking around the club when he caught sight of a familiar oversized human.

First Castiel, now Sam Winchester.

"It's really starting to look like old home week around here," he said as he moved to sit down beside the human.

Banquets seemed stuffy to Spider. He skipped it, went back to the hotel instead, took a refreshing spin in the jacuzzi, and was toweled off and back in his leather in time to go to the bar.

The ... one bar. Well, one bar could be as good as a hundred, if it was the right bar. And if he was in it, it was by definition the right bar.

"Do you have champagne?" he asked the brunette behind the bar. "There's a special cocktail I'd like you to make."

"I'm comfortable enough in my masculinity to drink pink," Gabriel told her.

Sam glanced up from his book and eyed the other man. "Excuse me?"

Merry was there to relax after a long day of seminars. Not that she would need one, she was well aware of the world around her and how to survive. She'd done so for all this time, after all.

Even if she was without her bodyguards and lovers for the weekend.

So, left to her own devices, she sat in the lounge, sipping a glass of wine. It matched her hair almost perfectly. Her dress even more. It was tasteful, for a fey, only showing a hint of her plentiful bosom. What it lacked there, it made up for in exposing her legs. Petite she may be, but they were still stunning. Her feet where encased in stilettos, not suited for running, more for more... pleasurable activities.

Her tri-colored eyes flicked around the room as she watched her fellow bar goers. It was nice to be anonymous for a night.

"The kind doesn't matter. It's scientifically nonalcoholic when you're done anyhow," Spider said. "It's called a double entendre."

He described the process, which involved splishes of this and splashes of that until the drink turned a bright purple, and was almost definitely not nonalcoholic, scientifically or otherwise. "If you have everything for it, that's what I want. One for everyone in the bar, in fact."

"Just visiting. I'm attending a convention. Got bored so I thought I'd check out the local action."

"I keep running into people that I didn't expect to. This keeps up, next thing you know, Dad's going to sit down beside me and offer to buy me a drink."

Gabriel looked down the bar at the other trickster. "Spider, isn't it?"

It was in the wake of an overly rambunctious baby bobcat that Dimitri made his way to the bar. The bobcat leaped up to perch atop a stool, rubbing her whiskers against the corner of the bar, marking it as hers.

Dimitri chided her and she batted at his hand before spotting something distractingly shiny.

"I'm glad to see you've escaped your room," he remarked to Jaina, taking a seat and pretending it was perfectly normal to accompany a cat places. Well, a cat without a leash.

Really, she was so anonymous it was a miracle Spider glanced at her more than once, and didn't mistake her for a bit of the furnishings. He had a bright purple cocktail in one hand when he wandered over to her table, dressed almost as inconspicuously as she was in a black-and-scarlet fitted leather jacket and black leather leggings.

"In a mood for company?" he asked, expecting the answer to be yes.

"That's my name," Spider agreed, offering a hand. "And you're Gabriel. Have a good time today?"

He was happy to see Gabriel again; he'd enjoyed the angel's lecture, even if he still was against smiting. The term just seemed so messy.

"That depends," Merry replied, raising an eyebrow at the drink more than the outfit. Because they matched.

It was fate.
