Atlas Gym | Tuesday
It might not have been his official day to work, but hanging around Atlas on Tuesdays was habit and it wasn't like the bobcat minded - she turned everything he did into a game.
Including Dimitri's novel. He'd been reading with a displeased look, unimpressed by something within when the bobcat suddenly snatched the novel from his hands and pounced away with it, shaking her rump in the air and giving the paperback a little angry shake. It seemed to him that she wanted to play keep away.
Dimitri's frown turned into a laugh as he crawled toward the bobcat on the mats, one hand outstretched to reclaim his book. "Give it here," he said, voice too fond for his own good. Instead of bringing it over, the bobcat turned her back to him, laid down, and started tearing the hell out of the novel. It was a much different game than keep away. "Hey!" Dimitri moved fast to circle her, intent on saving the book, but the bobcat's teeth were very sharp and pages were flying everywhere.
Dimitri sighed, taking the remains from her and patting the cat on the head. "I take it I wasn't meant to see how that ended, hmm? How about I get you a towel to play with instead?" The kitty perked up at this idea, jumping at his legs and attacking his shoelaces as Dimitri walked to the back to do just that.
[The OCD died in a fire, but this post is open.]
