Community Center Groundbreaking | Afternoon | Thursday | May 20th

It seemed appropriate that on today, of all days, there seemed to be flowers everywhere. Fraser had woken up to them in the coffee pot, in the dog food and growing out of the pockets in his serge. Now, as he prepared to break ground on the new community center, they were surrounding the work site, sticking out of the pockets of various townspeople and singing delightedly while they did. It was fitting.

The land around 27 Chimera had been cleared, giving it a flat, empty look. That would soon change. With one dig of his shovel and a few smiles, ground was broken on the brand new community center! It was one of the bigger undertakings the town had taken on recently and there was a lot of excitement about it. The NPC Construction Crew wasn't going to waste any time and immediately got started once people had dispersed a bit from the work site.

Construction had officially begun! In a few weeks, everyone on the island would be able to utilize a brand new facility for whatever they might like!

Jo was there on the construction crew, digging where they told her to dig.

Of course she had to clear flowers off the end of her shovel's handle every so often.

After lunch, Cindy got changed and headed over to the construction site. She could dig for awhile if that was what was needed. And move some decent-sized stones when no one was looking.

This was Cindy, being Involved With The Town. Look at how concerned and involved she was!

Faith was willing to do her part, because she was bored as hell.

It was an event in the land of no events, so Barney showed up to see who else would show up. Also, his office chair had sprouted a leak of flowers and left him no place to 'work' on all his many important tasks.

"This is boring," he complained, poking at the flower sticking out of his suit's button-hole. "There should be fireworks or chicks in bikinis!"

Reese watched the groundbreaking. "They clear things here pretty fast."

Zoe needed a break from the singing going on in her office, so she decided to see how the groundbreaking was going. Sure, they'd only just started, but that didn't mean she couldn't come and look at the site.

Dani came for the groundbreaking, but stayed to watch the construction crew. She wondered if she could hire them to do a little renovation work around her house once their current job was done.
