Jack was cheerful today at the law office. Even as he read case studies and summarized them for Ms. Cabot, his mind was with the planned errand with Kyle on Saturday. Jack knew many things, but he counted blending in wherever he happened to be as one of the more useful things Sebastien had taught him. Passing it along to somebody else struck him as quite the good deed for the month.

When he wasn't attending to the business of the law office, Jack returned to his desk and to a fresh legal pad that was rapidly filling with thoughts Jack wished to discuss with Kyle. He didn't want his mind to go blank at an inopportune time.
