Ino would be lying if she said that her head didn't hurt from several conversations that she'd had in the last few days. On one hand, she had to admit that it was keeping her busy which was… better than the alternative, on the other… part of her felt bad about wanting to stay busy so that she didn't have to think about things.

It was a peculiar situation, she decided, silently rearranging some of the displays as the radio played softly. No singing today, no.

Bod was without classes today so he and Kate (who was still a cat) had wandered into town. He'd stopped to get something to eat first but eventually found himself pushing open the door to the floor store and giving Ino a wave as he did.

She offered him a smile as she looked up at the sound of the doors.

The cat got a bit of a blink; she hadn't really been paying attention to radio.

"New pet?" Ino asked curiously. "Or student? Hi."

Bod who was AMAZED that he got this notif glanced down at the cat in question and snickered.

"It's Kate Gregson," he said, watching as Kate started wandering around the store, taken with some of the plants. "She's decided to be a cat for awhile and seems to enjoy sprawling on me. Hullo, Ino. How are things?"

"Time goes on," she said, a bit tiredly. "I'm managing, I suppose."

Mostly by lying a whole lot.

"Kate, huh? That your girl?"

See! She did catch some radio!

"My girl?" Bod asked, deflecting the question just a bit. "Well, she's not entirely a girl right now. So no, I don't think she's my girl."

In the most literal sense of the word.

"Seriously? That's how you're tryin' to keep stallin' me?"

"Well. Yes," he said and blushed a bit. "Was the effort terrible? I'm not used to deflecting questions like that. It was all I could manage on a moment's notice."

Her lips twitched, almost a real smile there for a moment.

"You lost the moment you started splitting species on me," she explained. "Because that meant you had nothing but to say--either a yes, which you didn't want to admit to--or a no, which Kate might take badly to if she remembers this. Or something entirely different."

Bod just kept on blushing there, more shy than anything. He was realizing that he hadn't really told anyone about this yet. He'd gotten used to keeping it quiet and now that he didn't have to, he was balking.

"It's not that I didn't want to admit it, it's just that I've gotten practiced at keeping it relatively quiet," he said and smiled. "We're together, though, and not just when she's a cat."

Ino wrinkled her nose cheerfully at him.

"Was that really so hard?" she asked, lightly teasing. "I won't even tease you for it."

Well, more than she just had. Shush.

Delirium had suddenly remembered she still needed to get flowers to someone.

Someone who? She had no idea, but getting the flowers was certainly a progress. And hey, there was a flower shop, just like Didi had mentioned.

Now she only needed to find good flowers! The thing was, all of them looked pretty good. "" She was nearing the point when she was just having fun by staring at the flowers instead of picking one.

Ino was, well, she wasn't quite sure what to make of that.

"Hey," she said, professional smile going on! "Do you need a hand? Getting flowers for anything in specific?"

The less she made of it the more probable her sanity would remain intact.

"Well....Anemone said I should give flowers to someone." And she couldn't bring herself to pull the little things from the gardens; they had gone all puppy eyed on her. "Buuuuuuuuuuuuut, I don't know which ones."

"Do you know which someone?" Ino tried, leaning against the counter. "That might help me make suggestions."

She had had someone in mind...what a moment to forget. "It was...um..." This is what happens when you don't write names down.

"Oh, oh, ohohohoh.... Hinata!" Yeah, she remembered now. "Do you, um, know Hinata?"

"I know Hinata," Ino said, amused. "We went to school together before comin' here. You're friends with her?"

"Oh...really?" That was pretty interesting, to say the least. Maybe she had found someone who could tell her more about the girl.

"Eh...maybe? ." Nobody had said the word friend on that conversation so... "What kind of flowers, um, would Hinata like?"

"You're not sure if she's a friend and you still want to buy her flowers?" Ino grinned. "Do you want to be her friend?"

Or more than a friend? Because the thought of Hinata with-with this girl was amusing to Ino.

Delirium shrugged a little. "She's nice. And, um, sane." Few people on the island were that sane. Ino was pretty sane too; maybe it had something to do with the place they came from? "A friend would be nice....?"

Even a ridiculously old being like Delirium was at a loss when it came to romance. She totally smothered her friends in hugs and what not, but to go beyond that...well, Ino could dream~
