Chilly Boulder, Saturday mid-morning
Chilly Boulder lacked a hitching post, which would be because Fandom wasn't located in the Old West and its customers rarely arrived on horses. They did, however, sometimes arrive on dragons. Well, a dragon, anyway, and Toothless touched down neatly in the narrow street.
He made himself comfortable, curling into a neat curve outside the shop window, while his person and the other person he quite liked went inside. The lack of hitching posts wasn't a problem, since he had no intention of going anywhere until he'd had his ice cream.
"So," Hiccup said as he gazed upon the wonder that was Chilly Boulder's ice cream selection. "This is ice cream. What do you think?"
[OOC: For the One-With-The-Swagger, but the shop is open for your ice cream needs!]

NPCstaff, she looked over the various tubs of ice cream. "It looks...cold?" And better than most of her cooking, so there was that.no subject

It took him a second, and then the fluency kicked in. "What? No!" He skittered away from her, not that there was far to go before he ran up against the wall. "No no no." He held up his hands. "I have a job. They give me money and I don't have much to spend it on and my girlfriend is wonderful and, more importantly, she's terrifying and it was a friendly offer that's all! I swear to Odin!"

Mean Cara.
"I know, I know" she said, after she thought he'd flailed enough. "You're attached and and I'm... not interested in you like that. At all."

Instead she studied the selection of ice creams more closely, wondering how exactly they'd achieved the some of lurid colours. Eventually one nearly the colour of her agiels caught her eye. "I'll have that one. Just that one. By itself."

"And a large bowl of strawberry, dragon-sized." It was a measure of the resilience of Fandom's
NPCscitizens that she didn't even blink, simply handed over a giant bowl, a medium sized bowl, and a smaller bowl."Right." He rubbed his hands together. "I'll go give Toothless his if you want to take ours to a table?"

As she carried them over to an unoccupied table, she studied the bowls with no small amount of curiosity. Were she not Mord'Sith, she might have been vaguely intimidated by Hiccup's ridiculous sundae.

And hesitated, a bit uncertain as to where he should start eating from. He had a feeling that destabilising it would result in a lap full of ice cream. The possibility that it might not be his lap made him very careful as he sampled a bit of whip cream and caramel. "I love this place," he said happily.

If they could, they would have to roll Zedd around the Midlands.

"That means you've never had hot fudge and whip cream and cherries and nuts," was what he said instead, in a voice that indicated just how tragic that fact was. Not that he'd known what those thing were before he'd come here, either. He pushed his bowl of ridiculous sundae closer, turning it so a particularly delicious bit was facing her. "Try some, right there. Trust me, you'll like it."

She studied her spoon, it looked very...sticky.

"Sweet." she managed after a moment. "Really sweet." There wasn't exactly a whole lot of refined sugar in the Midlands, so this was a bit much even for someone with a sweet tooth

He could probably spend hours on the topic with Zedd though.

No, he had no idea why he'd suddenly decided that Cara having fun was a worthwhile goal; if pressed, he'd probably blame the Doctor.
no subject
"You mean like a trebuchet?" Mord'Sith didn't get involved in siege warfare very often, so Cara hadn't used them much, but they definitely fell under what she'd consider fun.

No, not like that.
He was imagining a very wet, very cranky, very scary Cara--Cara, who reminded him so much of the Vikings he'd grown up with--and he paled a little. "Uh, no. No, we don't want you to get hit with a water balloon. Or any sort of water carrying device. Especially not if it's my fault. I'll make sure its perfect first, get Calvin to help me test it." He didn't care if Calvin got hit with a water balloon, since Calvin wasn't likely to, you know, do him bodily harm.

"Good, soakings are for other people."
