Atlas Gym [7/12]

Ashley was in a pretty good mood when she arrived at the gym this morning. Class had gone well on Friday, she got through the weekend without anything weird happening and Jessi was nowhere in sight.

She settled in behind the counter with the new issue of Guns and Ammo magazine.

"Guns and Ammo," Dimitri read off the title of Ashley's magazine as he approached the desk. "Promoting our range?"

"Well, I'm sure accidental promotion is better than none at all," Dimitri replied. "But teaching kids to shoot, that sounds rewarding." Or insane, Dimitri wasn't sure given the population of the school.

"Yes, a lot of cultures that send people here seem to share an educational system that promotes fighting from a very young age," he nodded. "My training started in elementary school as well, just not from my mother."

Dimitri cocked his head, a bit confused by that follow up. "...my teachers."

"It was just like the Academy Rose attended," Dimitri replied. "Only in Russia. There are many academies to train novices, it's very common for our world."

He nodded. "I was in school with my sisters, but now that I'm here we don't see each other hardly at all. It's just the way things are." This didn't mean he didn't miss them, just that he was accepting of his own situation.

Price stepped into the gym dressed in a manner that few had seen. He had on work-out clothes, a sleeveless shirt and long, loose shorts with an elastic waistline. The clothes were dark, drab colors of course.

He gave Ashley a nod in greeting. "Afternoon," he said. "You normally here on Mondays?"

Price smirked a bit. "That's because I work these days, now. I'm actually just in for a work-out on my lunch break."

"Looks like we've got a regular bunch of soldiers in training," Price said. "That Katniss, aiming for the eye... damn impressive. All of them, really, in their own ways."

"I probably should give you a bit of history about this week's class, sometime," Price said. "Given that we'll be replicating a part of my own personal past."

"Coffee and military secrets," Price said. "Always a good combination. Fashionably late morning? 10 am, perhaps?"

Price chuckled. "I'll be sharing them with an entire batch of teenagers. I hardly need to trust you that implicitly, Ashley."

Price smirked. "Well for all I know, you've got deeper, darker secrets than me, darling."
