The woods, Wednesday, all day and all of the night

The stone had settled in nicely now, was really getting into the groove of its ancient task, sending power pulsing out across the island and across the multiverse to those still connected to the island. Making each and every one of them a promise.

If you dream them they will come.

It shared their dreams and stored the memories away, keeping them safe until it was ready to send out the call.

It wouldn't be long now until it had what it needed.

[Second verse, same as the first. Keep on dreaming, and there's OCD for those who are coming to touch the stone and for those who want to know where the heck this weird power signature/feeling is coming from.

That people in the first thread went into the woods is FB (unless otherwise marked); touching the stone is NFB.]

Normally, when Zack was restless, he'd go for a run, swing his sword around while running over patterns and forms on the beach. He'd move. Today, he was simply prone to wander, a slow, meaningful stride taking him into the woods.

Everything was so alive here, today. Maybe it always had been, and Zack had never found himself with the presence of mind to pay attention.

He was missing somebody. Maybe it was just that everything seemed more alive, when you spent too much time thinking about the dead.

He'd hardly realized what he was doing when he pulled off his glove, wanting to feel the warmth of that stone under his fingertips. He'd been so lost in the vivid world around himself, in that reassuring feeling of promise, that it had simply seemed like the thing to do.

And when he stood, turning to walk away, he found himself uncertain as to whether he'd ever seen any stone at all. A glance back, and nothing was there.

And so, instead of dwelling on some daydream haze of a stone in the woods, his fingers curled gently around the hilt of the sword on his back.

Now, he'd go and get on with his day. Everything seemed like it was going to be okay, now.

There was a Viking and a dragon in the woods. Only one of them wanted to be there. "Don't get me wrong, traipsing around in the woods with only one leg is about my favourite thing ever, but the wandering aimlessly in circles? Not so much." Toothless glanced back at Hiccup, cocked an ear at him in what was clearly dragon for 'and did I force you to come with me?', then his ears started flickering wildly and he lifted his head to sniff the breeze, obviously looking for something. And completely failing to find it.

With a annoyed rumble, the dragon picked another direction and started pushing through the trees.

Hiccup sighed, grabbing onto the edge of Toothless' harness to help him keep his balance. "Yeah, but if you do find this mysterious whatever it is your looking for, you might need me. It could be a mutant rabbit or something. A fluffy bunny of doom! With great big pointy teeth! Then where would you be?"

Toothless sneezed at him, eyes bright, and Hiccup grinned. "Just keep looking. The sooner you're done the sooner we can get out of here."
