Atlas Gym | Thursday
Catching up on radio podcasts was a good way to speed up writing up reports at the front desk. It meant earphones and an easy way to work while ignoring the Top 20 music blaring from the tae bo classes. There was a lot included in the podcasts to make Dimitri frown, but nothing he thought held water, knowing the squirrels as he did.
Eventually, Dimitri wasn't actively listening to the reporters anymore. His mind was wandering, remembering times he avoided thinking about and old friends he always missed.

In the Evening.
So it was up to Ivan to find Dimitri - which wasn't exactly the way their relationship had gone over the years, but when one was dead, one did what one could.
The sun had set, but an odd pull led him to the gym of this quaint town. Not exactly the type of place he would have expected Belikov to end up, but then, he hadn't expected to end up dead so take that as you will.
Ivan saw Dimitri still working through the glass doors of the gym and shook his head. Some things never changed. He'd bet half his fortune that the man had been there all day. The air of expecting the doors to open themselves was instinctual, but he pushed open the door gracefully. "Look at this," Ivan said in Russian as he smiled to see Dimitri there. "Of all the gyms, in all the towns in the world, and I walk into yours."
Re: In the Evening.
"You're the last person I expected," Dimitri returned, voice a warning even as his stake hand halted at the feel of warm skin under his hand. "Since you died."

Re: In the Evening.
Yes, that was Ivan's signal to explain himself. And quickly.
Re: In the Evening.
"Dreams are what I heard," he said, switching to precise English. "Though being dead, I admit to being behind on these things."
Re: In the Evening.
There was perhaps a bit of cursing regarding his feelings about this island and its weird, messed up magic.

That probably told Ivan everything he needed to know.

"What are a few marks when I have all this?" Dimitri asked, moving to have a lean against the counter. Support was necessary for a conversation with his dead friend. "I'm training a novice here. She won't make the mistakes I did."
Re: In the Evening.
But it wasn't time yet for serious discussion. They would need vodka for that. "A novice, hmm? The Academies train their novices in the field now? Is she hot?" Belikov might be a teacher, but Ivan wasn't so old that hitting on a teenager would be unattractive.

He chuckled with amusement though, shaking his head. "Oh, of course, I was the one who started all those fights when we were in the lower school. You haven't always been the paragon of etiquette we find you today." He looked around as he switched to English. "Speaking of etiquette, don't you have a drink around here?"
Re: In the Evening.
"This is a gymnasium, Ivan," Dimitri answered. "Your drinking here is limited to water, I'm afraid."

Re: In the Evening.
"I could take you to the local bar...but I warn you it's less than impressive." Unless zombies were impressive, but Dimitri found them simply unappealing. "They do serve something that passes for vodka."
Re: In the Evening.
Or perhaps Dimitri wasn't rich, yes.
Re: In the Evening.
"...I do have a bottle on ice. I suppose this counts as an occasion worth breaking it out.
Re: In the Evening.
...no, actually there needed to be a hug there. The interesting 'greeting' Dimitri had chosen made hugging out of the question before. "Lead on, my friend."
