Cafe Fina, Tuesday

Lion-o found himself missing all the World Cup soccer matches. He ended up arranging a game between the forks and the spoons, with the spoons wiping the floor with the forks.

Who really thinks the forks should have played a little better.

After the cheese grater tells Lion-o about the Women's World Cup.

Yeah... IDEK.

"Hi Lion-o!" Momoko waved as she entered the cafe and plopped into chair, still not in the best of moods, but not nearly as mad as she had been during class. "Pudding, please? And keep them coming."

Luckily there was wait staff that could care less about kicking a ball across a giant lawn and into a net with your feet, male or female, so Momoko's table was not absolutely littered with empty pudding cups as she mulled things over in her head. And emptied another cup of its delicious contents.

With the usual gym-class headache finally under control, Jaime's next order of business had been to find Momoko. And it was something he was worried enough about that he'd cheated.

He'd gotten the Scarab to do a DNA search to locate Momoko. He didn't want to have to waste time looking for her, and it was a good thing he'd decided to cheat because he wouldn't have thought to look in Fina.

And they clearly needed to talk. He just wasn't sure about what.

His steps were quick and hurried right up until he reached the restaurant. And then he stood in the doorway, hesitating.

Why on earth one wouldn't think to look in Fina for Momoko? There were such wonderful desserts there, served by people who looked like cutlery!

And Momoko was at her table, actually chatting with a very charming wait-spoon about the desserts being planned for next week, having just had yet another pudding delivered to her table, heavy on the whip.

Jaime eventually took a deep breath to steady himself, then pushed the door open.

He walked toward Momoko's table slowly. He didn't say anything. He didn't know what to say yet.

Momoko was chuckling and handing her empty parfait cup to the spoon, so she didn't notice Jaime until he was almost at her table. She dug her spoon into her pudding, her face falling back into the frown she'd had when she entered.

When he reached her table, Jaime stopped. His back was painfully stiff as he simply looked down at Momoko. Waiting for... well... whatever.

"One pudding coming up!" said Lion-o, though he poked the pepper shaker and suggested he bring three. He was just getting that kind of vibe from Momoko.

"So, how have you been? I haven't seen you since that night the girl got stuck in the service elevator," said Lion-o, taking a seat at her table.

Momoko ignored him.

Eating pudding, here, thank you.

Jaime wasn't the most patient ever, but he could stand there silently for a bit.

He wasn't sure he could do it long, though.

"I went home for a few days, so I wasn't here. Sorry I didn't tell you. It was a holiday where I'm from." Momoko sighed and rested her head on the table, not exactly answering his question with words. "Other than that, I've just been hanging around. Going to classes. You?"

"I got stuck in Locker 327 for a few days and missed a weekend," said Lion-o. "That was kind of interesting. I did manage to pick up a few souvenirs before I got out."

She looked at him from the corner of her eye and tapped at her dessert. It was getting harder to ignore him, the longer he waited there.

"I'm mad, so I don't think I should talk to you right now," she finally said.

"Really?" Momoko perked up a bit, lifting her head to look at him. "I've heard of that happening, but I never believed it! That's totally weird. You actually got stuck in a locker?" Lion-o didn't look like he'd even fit in one.

He didn't have an argument for that, but...

"Will... will you at least tell me why?" What did he do? How could he fix it?

"It seemed more like a rogue portal than a locker on the inside," said Lion-o, frowning. "So it wasn't so much as I got stuck that I had to find the portal on the other side. I wonder if that's what happens to the others who get stuck."

"Another portal? That's awesome; I wonder if it's active all the time or just another part of Fandom being weird." She considered that, her own issues shoved to the side as she did. It totally sounded like an awesome adventure waiting to happen. "I've heard that people do disappear for days at a time, so probably that is what happens. Was it fun?"

"It was kind of cool," said Lion-o. "That reminds me, I brought something back for you, but I left it at my cabin. You need to stop by one day so I can give it to you."

It really hadn't been a stressful trip if Lion-o had time to do some shopping.

She didn't want to, but, fine. If he didn't get it, and if she ever wanted to hear his side of the story... "Dinah finally told me you broke up with her."

There, did that help?

She stabbed at her pudding one last time, then pushed it away. It was delicious and she was ruining its flavour by eating it when she was mad.

Jaime blinked, looking very confused.

He what?

"I what?"

"OOH! I can totally do that!" She would totally have to go back to the dorms to get his gift, though. "I'm in Snow Caps, which cabin are you in this time? They're all candy this session, right? The school comes up with the strangest cabin names."

"Cool, isn't it? Snarf would have loved it," said Lion-o, grinning. "I'm in Pixie Stix."
